Next weekend is probably Cathay but fingers crossed the week after that it's go-time.

I really like the Cathay stuff they are doing, great articles, will get that Arcane Journal. That said, if Valrak is right the boxset is not close, he has been hearing the Horus Heresy releases in August.

Apart from the bounce objective and bad scatters every mission is perfectly playable if you spend so much as a second considering the design of the core missions when building your Army (Melee Line)

The player with strategic advantage (which is arbitrarily granted from winning one roll off) gets to place the majority of objectives; these can't be in a deployment zone, but they can be literally right up against it. They then get to pick their deployment zone, which will be the one with the majority of objectives right next to it. They then get to go first 83% of the time, allowing for them to start the progressive scoring snowball. The only mission that really avoids these compounding issues is mission 4.

The missions were playable, sure, but weren't good.

That'd be wild honestly

Also a tough month for me with Weavers coming out late august/early sept for conquest :-/

Anything past July is just weird.

We already have a bunch of rules previews, even 30-ish pages from the rulebook leaked. Keeping the hype alive for 1,5 months is just not doable unless GW has some wild stuff in store. I mean, next week were already moving to rules for saturnine box set rules, what could GW be showing to keep the interest up? Will they do a legion/day previews or something?

2nd of August would mean it’s another 5 weeks until the preorder opens. That does feel like a very long time to keep the hype going but let’s not forget their hand was forced with the reveal.

It’s one thing to alter the date of a preview show but bringing forward the actual release date would be a much bigger deal logistically so we may be stuck with this big gap.

The guy doing the leaking bought it from a thief that works in the Memphis warehouse, so it’s not like they’re coming from the UK. They’ve been here for a long time already, I’d bet since before the tariff stuff started since they’re clearly in the warehouse somewhere they can be stolen, which wouldn’t be incoming or outgoing.

True but it’s not just the shipping to destination countries to take into account. There’s also the internal shipping within that country plus the pre-planned release windows for other products.

All I’m saying is it would probably be a big headache to shift it all around, especially just to bring it forward by maybe 2 weeks.

They're doing 3 articles a week, we still have deep dives on:

- Shooting

- Melee

- Missions

- USRs maybe

- Terrain

- Psykers

- Example battle report on warcom article

- Loyal marines

- Traitor marines

- Mechanicum

- SA

- Knights

So that's 4 full weeks of articles, if the reveal had been when schedules they'd likely keep the cadence but just have it fill the preorder window

Though you're right in that they could cover all of those, they did signpost the 'big five changes' right, so maybe they'll just stick to them? And then a few legion rules.

Also wouldn't really make sense considering they just released the rapiers and tarantulas, linking them to the Saturnine release.

Not sure if there's a lot of other stuff in the pipeline we've seen in previews that would fill another couple of weeks?

Though at this point it's just me wanting it to release sooner rather than later.

I'll second the notion that it's unlikely that they're able to move the release forward, even if they wanted to, despite the leaks.

A release of that caliber is quite an undertaking and the logistics of it probably can't be moved forward even with a couple of weeks notice. Not to mention that other releases would then have to be shuffled around and that's probably not easy either (if it's even doable; planned releases may already be in warehouses ready to ship and there might not be anywhere to put the releases that would have to be moved back, to make room for the Heresy stuff that would be moved forward - and that's assuming that they would even be able to get the Heresy stuff there in time).

Strongly doubt it will be 2nd of August, I don't think they'll drag it out that long - not to shirk Valrak but his precise release date predictions are nowhere near as reliable as his broader rumour information. A 5th of July preorder based on the below, which has been spot on so far and comes from someone with a solid track record on release dates, seems more likely to me.

In terms of preorder date, Elarin on TGA has usually been pretty spot on with dates:

To be fair to Valrak, he’s said he’s not sure if the 2nd of August is HH or SM codex #2.  Just it’s a big release

Heresy July 5th after Fishmen, release on the 19th. Marines wave two on radio silence then quick drop in August. Heresy was moved to make room for Marines and strike while 40K players are mad they can’t have a Fellblade in 40K.

Youre thinking too small.

In the hopper we have:

- HH 3 launch

- wolves wave 2

- black templar

- space marine 2.0

- grey knights

- HH 3 follow up wave (individual kits)

They can easily piss off everyone who isn't a marine collector with an easy 6 weeks of only power armour.

Clearly the summer of power (armour)!
