I like that they are adding new stuff, and have loved most of it. Been playing since the very start of 3rd edition, lots of new things over the years. For Horus Heresy we had two new types of terminators in the last 12 years or so. Lots of new tanks in that time. I don't know why them continuing to add new* things is suddenly bad. Also a TON of sites had previously made eggs terminators and called them saturnine, probably for at least the last 8 years or so, and people had used them in their armies already. Dont love how they were implemented, but folks saying the sky is falling just seems like being angry for the sake of being angry.

I'm very excited for the new stuff, and excited for them to continue to add more new stuff going forward.

Compared to the 3 glances that kill a pred in 2.0, that seems tougher.

I also saw that the lascannon had the armourbane special rule, which (from my admittedly duff memory) indicated it now always penetrated, rather than glanced? I am a bit concerned about a stunned/immobilised tank is  - apologies for the term - useless as a vehicle that can't move and/or fire isn't adding value.

Would someone with more motivation than I check that from the imgur content? I thought the melta weapons also had that rule, but I can't remember. I

(Apologies, I should check my info before I post).

Thing is in this game, if you're going to face vehicles, Dreads and big stompy robots, relying on glancing to death is too slow beyond one maybe two opposing vehicles, so lascannons and melta guns are crucial.

However, if you load up on Lascannons, my masses infantry, Destroyers and the like will not have opposing options that deal with them.

I'm happy with the vehicle rules at this point.

He can also wield a tasty plasma blaster, but there’s arguably a more useful reason to include a Saturnine Praetor in your army: he allows your unit of Saturnine Terminators to Deep Strike alongside him. This guy and six pals showing up in a backline with particle shredders is going to ruin any Legion’s day.

All that, for a measly 640 points, if taken otherwise unaltered.

Admittedly I haven't internalized most of the points and therefore no clue how cheap or expensive this might actually be, but these don't feel like an auto-take. Which is good, i think?

Plasma looks like they're about to drag it out back and put it down.

Also they're as tough as castraferrum dreadnoughts

It is a change for plasma...but if it opens up breathing room for the other special weapons, I am all for it. More variety is a good thing!

Ah, the noble plasma cannons, known for bouncing off of Marines and especially terminators...

Sad to see them making plasma even less effective into its armour type niche, especially in a world where heavy still exists, there's more wounds, and no instant death.

Maybe these plasma weapons are turned down because they are Barrage? That way if you are getting battered by 3 of these guys with two plasmas each, and they are out of LOS, you don’t get just instantly wiped.

That's what I thought as well.

Those are not Plasma guns or Plasma Cannons. I'll take wait and see what's coming.

So fsr I like the Saturnine Terminators and they are exactly as expensive as I expected them to be. Really tough nuts to crack. I going to go with the Disintigrator and the particle shredder. Looks way cooler. Putting two Disintigrator on one each is tempting but that will nuke them very likely and would make them helpless in close combat.

I think I'd run these guys with Fist/Shredder and the Disintegrator. Either in a Spartan or Deep-Striking with an Axe/Hammer Praetor.

So long as Transport Capacity isn't changing much, you can fit 6 of these in the Spartan.

I would agree but the plasma blaster profile at the bottom doesn't fill me with hope. Guess I'm swapping the plasma cannons on my SoH jetbikes to multi meltas...

I was trying not to get dragged into the new rules, but … particle shredder seems pretty good for 5 points?

That was a first thought for me too. AP3 flamer for 5 points seems rather good. Certainly to the extent that I don't see myself modelling any with just a bare fist.

I think it's probably an auto-take if you're deep striking them, bearing in mind that you can't move/charge, but you can shoot.

M5 will probably be quite limiting, so without a transport or deep strike, they might struggle to engage the targets that they want.

As others noted, on paper it looks like disintegrator & fist/shredder is the pick of the bunch, I doubt I will run them, as they don't feel well suited to my RG army.

In terms of dealing with them, they're very tough, so I'd be looking for weapons with high FP and RS, not worrying too much about AP, anyone who has used terminators knows that a D6 has multiple 1's when it comes to saving throws
