Wait, no more war crimes squad? Guess i have 10 post it notepaper weights now

Probably be in Legacies.

There was weird stuff like the Legion Basilisks and SA Carnodons they were selling all edition that ended up not making it into the Libers for some bizarre reason. Guess this is 3rd's version of it.

So that Chain Axe shown on the Mk2 Assault Squad is a Heavy Chain Axe. Assuming it is from the options allowed.

Bottom of the first column "any model in this unit may have its chainsword exchanged for one chainaxe for free"

Since when are Assault troops equipped with antigrav gear? And you don´t write troop options BETWEEN the unit title and the fluff section. You write it in the options section with all the other options. Intern at work for sure.

They aren’t beholden to what you can wrap your mind around…

Ok... what's next on the 'we don't have the full picture' bingo card?

I love how 'oh it'll be in Legacies' is the defence now...that pdf was a travesty!

It wasn't amazing, though they did update it. Considering that they have said that they'll allow its use in WHW/Official tournaments and events, I suspect it will be more balanced this time.

Also, as has been pretty obvious since the first preview event, the Journals will be introducing new units and variants of units on a more regular basis than we had previously. So maybe we'll get some of the missing and/or legacy units there?

Just stating that it'll probably be in there, not defending it.

Since now.

The Antigrav is probably an attempt to remove different rules that do the same thing like how Squigs had the flying fule in AoS (might not be the case now, been a while since I looked in on AoS) to represent how bouncy they are without having a bouncy rule that was functionally the same as flying.

And the trrop options have just moved.

Don't see any real problem with either point.

Exactly… pretty sure  you’ll search this forum and find people complaining about how eacj different jump pack and set of wings had slight variants on 500 word sections of rules text.

Antigrav seems a lot simpler… was that long ago that Screamers of Tzeentch were Jetbikes.

I'm not feeling particularly optimistic about the game. There's always pros and cons with a major edition change and there's plenty I do like on paper about 3.0, but looking at a few sample suites of loyalist legion rules they don't feel as comparatively interesting or thematic as what we had in either 2.0 or 1.0. Detachments fall well short compared to old Rites of War for me and I'm puzzled by many of the decisions made by the designers. Unit losses suck even if they're preserved in PDF form or are going to be reintroduced down the line with a shiny new kit. Paying for rules content in 2.0 and then not seeing those units in the main books (e.g. Inductii, Exemplary Battles units) is also disappointing.

The culled legion specific loadouts I dislike and I really feel for those with what are often expensive conversions. Invalidating options is not something I wanted to see from 30k. I suspect we'll see legion-specific plastics sooner than we thought though.

Ultimately the proof will be in the pudding and I'll happily give it a go. Very curious where my Hereticus EC will land, who knows, they might be spectacularly flavourful and effective. But it feels like in stark contrast to the marketing message the designers went out on a limb with this edition's direction and I am not convinced it will pay off.

Not gunna lie: Things ain't lookin' so hot for ol 'Gill (BA player) who already had assault cannons on their angel tears. I also spent ungodly amounts of money to buy several BA upgrade kits for more assault cannons. Also, this likely means rotor cannon options for Angel Tears are going away as well since that's not part of the base kit.

Not saying the bad news is ONLY affecting me, but I am definitely concerned. Poor IF supposedly don't have Illiastus assault cannons at all from the rumors.

Did the vets lose all their melee options? Like no option for chainswords and maybe no option for mass power weapons?

Veteran Tactical Squad? I think so, probably to differentiate them from Veteran Assault Squad.

Clearly this limiting wargear and model options to what GW currently sells is their overarching ideology. Eventhough HH isn't 40K it's clear it's going to be pushed, to what degree and how fast is the question.

The HH policy is decently clear. If it cannot be made from 1 squad kit + 1 upgrade kit then it will be Legends, or in a Journal with kit bash recommendations.

Though for the limited wargear, like Mor Dethryn with combi-weapons, I have no idea if those squad variants will get Legends entries.

“You might need another Centurion for the  new force organisation but that’s it.” Is possibly the understatement of the year!

I also feel like they’re obsessing over these new tactical statuses, I really hope they’re not as pervasive as it seems they’re going to be. If I’ve only got four turns I want my units to actually be able to do something during them.

You can have as many turns as you like, 4 is a suggestion your group may ignore if you like.

I have a strong feeling that the very next edition will drop all of the kit bashing support the same way 10th edition did with anything heresy era. I hope I'm wrong.

Looking at the contents page, IF don't seem to have lost any core units??

Just look at IF, the 2.0 poster bois and how much stuff they have and compare it to sallies/ GW couldn't even be bothered to add one character.

They could have just done Numeon, but noooooo
