I feel like, if they wanted to use the journals to do things like White Scar praetors on bikes, they NEEDED to warn people about that directly. Not just “we will use the journals to expand legion options”, I mean explicitly saying some legions will lose the option to run special things for a year or two.

Arbitrarily give them WS3 or something. The pipe organs now sprouting from their collar bones are -very- itchy you see, making them jerk reflexively everytime they move, thus making it hard to aim.

Seriously though, this sucks. I just posted a veteran squad from my Iron Warriors that's 7 shotguns, three dual LC's and a powerfist on the sargeant. My Ravenwing collection within my Dark Angels - my centurion and praetors that are mounted are gone. Cool. My Night Lords' raptors are all armed with chainglaives, so we'll see where that goes - but I presume they won't be able to take it. (Moronic), and I only have 1 terror squad with 10 volkites.

I'm not in the habit of ripping off arms off of models once they're "done", unless I'm stripping them wholesale to repaint them with better techniques. 

Wondering what good it would do if I emailed them feedback and said "Hey, this sucks. I won't be purchasing your nice new rules now."

Gotta wait for that Praetor/Centurion on jetbike kit along with a journal for that. That said it should be shockingly simple to get that down the line since each jetbike comes on it's own sprue, so you'll only need one of those and one more separate sprue with a single rider of proportionate bling.

I've also realised that scout squads seem to have disappeared too from the lists? Guessing they'll proxy as recon marines instead.

 

I'm generally quite positive with what's released or dropping but I'm glad I didn't order a saturnine box at this stage. It'd be good to be able to have an honest chat behind the design philosophy but at this stage I'd rather play 2.0.

Not fully, but the guy doing the leaking is uploading them piece by piece to imgur after making sure every image calls out/insults a guy named pardo.

Re scouts. In 1st they were really just a build of the recons, as you could swap to carapace armour and gain infiltrate and move through cover. Here's hoping that's where the rules return (but going by how the other rules went...I doubt it).

 

The jump pack or bust option for characters is also really disappointing. One of my long considered projects was a mounted white scars army, and I was just waiting for the mounted khan. Fast forward to 2nd and the army looked really challenging to enjoy, which made the super high cost harder to justify, and I started doing death guard instead to get my white armour kick in. Uh, feels like I dodged another bullet like the spear-vets.

Nothing, the Melta (24) rule means at 24 the weapon doubles damage so 8 damage max.

His language is appalling, the swearing utterly unnecessary. His grammar and spelling are atrocious too. 

 

How can I point my son to this and say 'what do you think?' when some yob has scrawled abuse all over it? Off topic I know, I'm just tired of the foulness and people thinking it is acceptable.

Thanks for the clarity, I misconstrued what was on warcom.

 

However, even do that's a potential 16 damage as they're 2 shot weapons.

See, what's happening here is that they're adding a WS Bike Character to 40k, so they've had to remove the ones from HH3.0 so you couldn't use the brand new 40k character instead of buying whatever Resin version they come out with later down the line.

So I know everything is kind of on fire with the disappointing leaks.

But as someone completely new to Heresy (I was thinking of trying 3rd, but reading this forum has kinda worked against that interest) I like the Iron Hands and some of those rule seem really neat (Sire of the Iron Hands is cool especially) I hope once the edition is out, things cool off and I can give it a shot, cause 10th ed 40K is getting a little boring.

Also why dont Gorgon Terminators have a ranged options in the new rules? Their models literally all have Combi Boltors. I guess that means they must be getting a new kit soon?

Yeah... I can see anger bring justified (it literally disqualifies alot of armies and is kind of out of left field) but that sort of language just undermines any validity to the point.

 

Calling out the Influencers is kind of weird too... like, what did the guy expect? For someone to ruin their reputation, career and risk a law suit over disappointing rules? Especially when their reviews arent even out yet (they could turn out negative or positive on it, who knows)?

Indeed. A much bigger issue, in my view, is that this seems to be unfinished and extremely poorly written. There's numerous examples of wargear either being absent (not choices removed, literally standard wargear on the kit not being there) or the Armoury Section not actually stating what units can take it.

 

The design philosophy we can argue one way or the other, but this is just basic proofreading. That's not acceptable in a premium product.
