Not to take this too off topic, but who is Pardo and why is this leaker so mad at Pardo? XD

He is a YouTuber that posted about flying to the UK this morning, ostensibly to turn in the leaker for a bounty of one Saturnine box.

Already answered the Pardo thing a few pages back - there's no evidence to suggest a snitching / bounty system is a thing, and the leaker got himself banned from the sub-reddit and Discord for being persistently abusive and rude.

Was he actually rude or did he just do

something that irritated some of the vermin moderating C&H.

edit: not you of course, the others

Given his literary dirty protest, I'd imagine the person in question probably isn't all that nice on the internet, so probably was actually rude.

Not certain if you're on the Discord, however they were having repeated brushes with insulting other users on the server. I'm trying to think of an apt person to compare to in B&C history - Black Blow Fly maybe? Regardless, it went from the links being posted sans commentary, to the commentary appearing, to him owning up on it and just... progressively more and more slurs and personal attacks popping up in the albums.

This hobby does bring out the worst in people at times. I'm choosing to believe this is a blip and not the norm, but that's me being optimistic.

Erm... what did Alpharius put in the Laerneans food?

It actually kind of amazing if the rumour is true.

Spoiler

Rumour is that they are down in price, MORE options, better stats, better rules.

Yeah after careful consideration, I’ve decided I’m out. Not investing into 3rd will just finish all my to do list and leave them in the display case.

Don't want to have the negativity of the community and company decisions impacting on my day to day life and hobbies, it sucks but after the continued polarisation of the community I’m definitely just to old to care about all of this stuff.

will still live and watch from the shadows but fml I’ve never seen so many local gaming groups go nuclear in a 12 hour window

I’m with you.  I have enough drama with actual problems like sick relatives and raising a daughter to jump in the middle of this.  I’ll just keep painting.

Man wanted more options for himself while he's disguised.

Given every other Legion seems to have taken a hit with this new edition, perhaps this confirms that it is actually Alpharius (or possibly Omegon) who's running the development team...! :whistling::sweat::laugh:

Fresh off the press, and no cursing out that one guy in this one.

GW should have announced getting Horus to join the design team, that's big from a PR angle.

Because the Traitor book is wildly different and retains much more flex (even moreso in some cases).

TSons look incredible!

Tyrant Siege terminators lost War gear options, and I think iron Warriors in general just lost our shrapnel weapons.

They also gained bypassing Cover Saves and full access to the Combi-Weapon List...

Iron Siege are terrifying now, think their missiles also got roided out.

It seems that whoever wrote the Traitors had a completely different Ethos than for Loyalists.

Most of the leaked Traitor units have partial or full customization.

TSons rocking a page of customization, reactions and powers PER CULT. Sekhmets roided to the gills in wargear options, etc.

So it seems so far like the fumble was the Loyalist book.

Either two different teams wrote the books, and whoever was project managing did a bad job of harmonising their work. Or we are going to now get a years worth of Journals slowly bringing the Loyalist book in line with the Traitor one.

I wasn't the biggest fan of moving a some of the special rules into warlord traits in 2nd. It didn't really break the lore; these special characters had specific command styles and favoured configurations when they were in charge of the theatre, but it was still obvious that it was being used to push the warlord traits for reaction point angle.

So seeing almost every special character have a special rule dedicated to their dueling style was extra annoying. There's very little in these characters in how they're masterful commanders and influences in their legion. It's maybe a small or first turn buff, and then some always-available challenge option. The challenge stuff just feels so artificial and grafted on.

Id like to see the rest of the traitor units before I pass full judgement.

I read - or tried to read - the 'Rewards of Treachery' bit for the Alpha Legion. I read a lot, and have read some pretty poor stuff (Brothers Karamazov, springs to mind)  but in trying to be absolutely precise, it's painful. Worse, I don't think it's even especially clear.

I was already going to skip on the box and I don't really want to read a logic problem, no matter how well intentioned. I understand the commercial imperative to get people to re-buy all over again but this is one treadmill I'll pass by. I hope others enjoy the edition. It's a shame. I'm disappointed, but I've got to be pragmatic.

Anyone already seen what the the special ammunition for the seeker bolters can do?

Additionally: FP4 Banestrike 18" Bolters for Headhunters? 2 Multi-Meltas for a 10 man squad? Infiltrate (9) with a Melta (8) on the Multi-Meltas? Sounds amazing. At least for HH, I like being forced in their Combi Bolters and Multi Meltas.

Bewildering decisions here. Why invalidate people's models with no warning and then leave them hanging about when they might be legal again? I guess the plan is for a legacy pdf to cover the gap, but it doesn't seem like great planning.

If they are in the day 1 launch Legacy pdf there wouldn’t be a gap? Or do you mean the blitz of content creator reviews in the week from pre-order to actual release?
