I was just thinking about the fact that I was somehow not able to find the document that surely was already out since it was due for July....

Considering we got a Friday article today they might have goofed and mixed up the article auto posting.

 

Honestly I assume the pdf was done last week at the latest and if we are seeing more delays it has to do with it getting stuck somewhere in the approval or proofing process.

Legitimately, I do think they are giving this document more time to be edited because they have found out a lot of their customer base isn't going to be the new people judging by the sales.

I’d never got round to painting a couple of AT conversion beamers. Now my dread has inversion beamers. Also Sigismund wasn’t using his scenic base so Captain Morgan pose achieved.

In the first instance, it's slightly odd that the Knights article today talks about pre-orders tomorrow when they're surely on Saturday. On the other hand it's entirely plausible that someone screwed up the media grid and didn't realize that Friday - when the article is supposed to be published - is actually August 1st.

I've been running it through my head today, and there's a few possibilities.

• articles were mixed up anyway, and this was a quick fix
• Legacies documents are still being worked on, and the showcase was swapped in to replace it (but not updated)
• it's the summer holidays; there's someone in the approval change out of the office or unable to be reached for sign-off on the documents, hence article not being posted and or swapped around

4th option, the only IT Guy working on the site isnt in the office, so no new downloads can be linked on the site.

Some unholy combined of options 2 - 4. With some added ‘Whose fault is all this’ emails flying around meaning that no one wants to push the button and publish.

We are very sorry, but at this time we cannot release the legacies PDF due to one of our upper management staff being on a planned vacation that they thought they were going to pay for with the bonus they would receive from this release. 

 

Okay, now that I've got the spice and sarcasm out the way it is pretty obvious at this point they are having to edit that PDF and they are having to edit it extensively.

They've historically been very bad at hitting their PDF roadmaps. Remember 2.0 Daemons? I just genuinely don't think it's ready to ship, rather than them scrambling to add stuff to it.

Ya I was going to say something similar. They suck at the roadmaps and PDFs. I remember when they promised a chaos cult list for 2nd and then...never delivered it lol

Alright, at this point I don't think it can be reasonably disputed that GW is hastily throwing the PDF together because of the backlash.  If the PDF is always as intended, there's no reason that it should not have been finished months ago.  On the one hand, this is a good thing because it shows that us as customers voting with our wallets and rightfully complaining have achieved results.  But given that it appears that widespread squatting seemed to be the plan all along, that makes me very worried they're going to try again in three years with 4.0.  And that puts me off massively, and I don't know what else to do other than keep trying to vote with my wallet.  So at this point, I think I'm really going to try not to buy any more miniatures from GW for the rest of the year.  Will I cave?  Probably.  But, Emperor help me, I'm going to try
