Same price as current (outgoing) AoD box.

Only thing that's kind of weird to me: Wouldn't they have all the other stuff that's supposed to launch alongside it in the list as well? They mentioned the expansion book and Libers dropping at the same time iirc

Damn, we reached 200 quid launch boxes faster than I expected. Nice to have a date for those of us who're just waiting for the Mk II though.

Tbf AoD was £195 before it went OOP. Admittedly that's after a couple of price rises, but I was worried Saturnine might edge over £200 with an 'obligatory new release increase'.

Age of Darkness was I believe £180 on launch in June 2022, and £195 at point of discontinuation.

Amusingly, if you adjust for inflation according to the BOE it should be just over £206 now... so technically, this is a below inflation price rise on the box!

Whether it is "worth it" or not will ultimately be in the eyes of the beholder, of course. But £156 from my LGS is mighty tempting, especially if I can offload some MkIIs to someone.

Allies Rules preview. Confirms 50% points limit on Allies (say hi again LI).

Also looks like Templar Brethren won't be coming back as unique sculpts, just converted from the Command Squad/MkVI IF Heads? Makes perfect sense honestly.

Hopefully the unit entry in the Liber keeps the Solarite Power Gauntlet and the Archaeotech Pistol.

So is it just me or is this game starting to look like a Frankensteins monster of multiple games cobbled together? We've got Legion Imperialis, Necromunda, three editions of 40K (2, 8-9) and 30k.

I understand drawing inspiration from other sources, but this is a little ridiculous.

I wouldn’t read too much into it; the pic is someone’s personal miniatures.

I hope the price staying the same in the UK translates to it staying the same across the world. $523 AUD (or $470 at my LGS) would be a decent enough price (Considering i was expecting $600 minimum)

Heresy hammer has been getting rumors nothing wargear wise is staying without a model.

That was more them going "I am concerned" while offering nothing to back it up because we don't have libers leaking yet. Like the Saturnine Praetor doesn't have anything on his sheet options wise but it doesn't mean Legions won't keep their ability to upgrade characters with stuff.

I am not saying it can't/won't happen of course but no one has proof it is happening yet, just "concerns".

That's a big ouch if true. And that's alot of Legion specific Weapons being canned  as most were only on specific units. World Eaters Caedre Weapons for example, they were only ever released on the Rampagers.

The small number of remaining resin kits that rely upon plastic or resin tactical/despoiler bodies of the older scale were always likely to be for the chop, I guess. Despite the hints last year that the studio would get round to updating more of the Legion-specific stuff, it was hardly going to happen while there are still plenty of core units to move to plastic. These in particular, look great, but it's more circumstantial evidence that limited wargear might be a thing.

(Noticed that they've used the power sword from the Tactical/Weapons Upgrade sprue, not Command Squad, which the shields come from. Not sure that it means anything, though)

They posted a picture on their Instagram saying they’ve been hearing it themselves.

I just don’t see how to square that with the fact we know they’re gonna be introducing units with no models and ways to kitbash them in the supplements, like they do in ToW.

edit: where on IG?

It makes sense that they would focus on generic plastics for the different marks first, as about half the legions don't have very distinct aesthetics as a whole (salamanders, ultramarines, SoH, Iron Warriors, Word Bearers, White Scars, etc) are mostly just a different color scheme with maybe a unique unit or two. DA, SW, IH, BA, TS, etc are going to take longer and ship fewer units because they are legion specific. Plus you can still do a lot with 40k kit bashing, since the iconography is mostly the same.

Not saying other legions shouldn't have more unique geometry, but they don't have the precedence from their 40k counterparts to work with. I imagine with all of the marks rescaled and released, they'll start focusing on legion upgrades/units.

To be honest that's how I was going to do mine

This reads more like they hear that people are worried about it than a confirmation of anything and is in line with the episode it's tied too.

I believe that LI has a 30% limit on allies, not 50%.
