I've chosen the Mechanicum as my army but this box has me wanting to finish my Ghost legion. The original starter box is around $320.00 CDN now from hobby shops so if this one is in that ballpark I may just wait till the individual releases unless this is the new starter box and sticks around for a few years.  I'm digging the designs I see here!

I believe the intent will be for this to be the new "starter" like Age of darkness, so in theory this'll stick around.

Looking again, the part numbers have me wondering if these are for the characters or not.

The combi-melta sprue goes up to at least 24 parts which feels like a lot for a centurion. Not out of the realm of possibility, but on the high side. That said, the bit of basing on the part below it does indicate character.

The plasma going up to at least 70 parts rules that out as anything to do with the Saturnine Praetor to me. Wrist mounted option for the termi unit? Nipple option for the dread?

The axe praetor in age of darkness is like 27 peices

Out of left field, what if the centurion has some options.  And part 67 also looks weird, like chains. And as far as I can tell none of the models seen on the box have any chain decor like that.

What I find a bit odd about this is there doesn't seem to be any mention of an upgrade sprue to go with the disintegrators, will it be just a pack of 5 guns? That seems like such a missed opportunity when they couldve done a veteran/seekers/destroyers upgrade sprue with odd weapons like combis, Grenade launcher, disintegrates, etc. At least for Combi-weapons there's 3d printers.

That plasma blasted is very curious. I wouldn’t expect the Praetor to have 70 bits but it’s possible he’s on a sprue with something else - either the centurion or the saturnines I guess… though presumably the saturnines are two identical sprues. Dunno.

It’s conceivable that this could be a sprue for something else, not in the box. New Cataphracti have been suggested, for example. But that doesn’t look like it fits on a terminator’s arm.

Maybe a full ensemble of disintegrators, heavy disintegrators, combi-disintegrators.

Since the Iron Warrior is labeled “Iron Warrior Veteran” this is probably the Veteran Upgrade sprue and not just disintegrators. So a slew of combi-weapons, some disintegrators, blasters, etc.

As much as I'd love that, doesn't the box specifically name it as a disintegrator weapon sprue?

The centurion seems to have a pistol.

The box does have one of the MkII marines listed as a veteran, so either this is part of an extra sprue that isn't listed, part of the disintegrator sprue for some reason, or, they're starting to show off things beyond the box, as presumably a new edition will have more than just the starter box.

Looking again, I'm 99% sure this guy has the combi melta. The way the strap hangs definitely would indicate it's being held muzzle down, and on the sprue you can see the corner of a tactical rock. Also the fact that the arm doesn't have a flat join.

Better pictures will be available on May 29th the official Horus Horsey Thursday (after 399 hours).

Sheesh, no I wanna make an allied detachment consisting of all Death Korps outriders. Oh wait, no ... maybe the rules for allies are gone as well. We'll see.

Yeah, you’re right, I got caught up for a second. Maybe the centurion is multi-part instead of mono-build

70 bits for the Sallie Praetor?! Well, that would make sense if Curze had his hands on him before you do.
