Blood Angels army list Got my last pre-baby RTT in 3 months

As the title says, I've got 3 months until my last RTT for quite some time as the wife is in the family way.
 

This list is quite a bit different than anything I've ever fielded so I'm a bit unsure about it and how to run it. I'll also probably only have 3-4 practice games with it, so I don't have time to waste with tweaking. In addition, I haven't played in around 4 months, so that's yet another difficulty.

 

let me know what y'all think, and let me know if you think it would be better as an AI list as well. I haven't tried it.

That looks like a good list. Possibly a little light on ranged anti-tank/monster but I have always found that with Red Rampage and +2S on the charge, our elite melee units can punch up into armoured targets quite adequately.

 

With plenty of MSU melee threats, I think this army works beat as LAG and would not switch it to AI.

Thanks! As it stands, I don't currently own any additional antitank (I don't even own the ballistus right now!).

That said, I would be willing to get rid of the eradicators and rework some things to add in additional ranged antitank asset.
 

if I was to do so, what would you recommend?

 

Keep in mind that this asset would take up the remainder of my unallocated painting time, and I don't own any scouts or infiltrators.

No, I think the Eradicators are fine. Ideas that would cross my mind might be replacing the Bolter Inceptors with the plasma variant as they can punch up into armoured targets better while still fulfilling the same role. It will reduce your anti-horde slightly although your multiple JAI squads will still do you well there.

 

The other unit I would reconsider are the Terminators as I have just found them anaemic in 10th edition. I feel like that Redemptor might be a better investment.

I do have a bunch of plasma inceptors primed. I'd certainly be willing to paint up a squad!
 

I considered running one squad of each instead of the eradicators, but was 5 points over (without Gift of Foresight on the Libby. 
 

Speaking of the Libby, him and his retinue have normally been one of my stronger performers... I can play around with the points gained from them leaving though and see what I come up with!

 

Edit: if i drop the termies, that would leave me enough points for another squad of inceptors and the sanguinor (or mephy).

If the Libby and Terminators have been working for you then by all means keep them. My experiences have been underwhelming but maybe you use them better than I do.

I'm still going to give plasma inceptors a go though. The bolters have generally done well for me, but I do remember a couple of times where I wished they had plasma...

 

if I don't like them, then I can always go back to the bolters!

I've been thinking about the list lately and I'm considering moving SotP from the Lt (who is with BGV) to one of the jump captains (who is with a 3man unit of SG) for a Rapid Ingress counter-charge threat.

Played my first game with the list. It was against an unusual WE List against someone who definitely seemed to know his army. I won 84(or 89, we got different results but didn't bother to verify why) to 57 (I think). 
 

The list performed very well! I had much more action monkeys than my last list, and it was nice!

 

I think my terminators might take MVP having dropped 6 eightbound with slaughterbound and a land raider without taking a single wound in return (turn 3 rapid ingress when he went first). 

 

The most disappointing unit had to be the ballistus, tbh. Though that might have had more to do with luck of the dice. 
 

Still, I'm happy with it's performance!

Well, with the new MFM, I've got 70 points to play with and I think I've got it narrowed down to two options. 
 

the first is simply adding a Lt with Combi-weapon. Keeps me at 2000 points exactly. 
 

the second is adding a techmarine to babysit my LR, dropping GoF from the libby, then trading in my eradicators for 3 more inceptors. This would put me at 1990 points.

Possibly the later as you may be light on fire support when you play test this list. You appear to have enough scoring.

Do you think it would be worthwhile to swap those intercessors for assault intercessors to give me the additional five points needed to put Gift of Foresight on the libby? Or better to just leave it as is?

 

those automatic MW are pretty tasty!
