No, according to the warcom article, the Ruinator is bundled with the Abominant - its the Ravager and Desecrator that are in the other box.

That's not how I understand the wording here.

Quote

Chaos Knights have been split into two boxes – both of which can build a Knight Desecrator or a Knight Rampager, with one containing a new sprue for the Knight Ruinator while the other can be assembled as a Knight Abominant.

The way I understand this, one box has the Abominant sprue, the other the Ruinator sprue, and both have all the parts for the Desecrator and Rampager. Might just be me misinterpreting it though.

Ah, I guess my reading comprehension failed me.  I am likely then also misremembering which sprue the face mask is on (I got my abominant with the sprues for the other 2 as well) - almost certainly its from the same box as the ruinator.

I like this new loadout a lot more than the Imperial Knight's new kit. Both the drill and the flamer looks great and I'll have to get my hands on them in the future for my Imperial Knights or take up a collection of Chaos Knights, which is pretty tempting these days.

To be fair, the split boxes seems entirely reasonable to me. Each box will build any of the basic knight configurations or one of the two more specialised ones. What else are they going to do, have one mega all-in chaos knight box that they keep adding new sprues to every time they make a new variant?

Yes please, I'm sure people can rent a forklift when buying a knight kit worth a couple grand.

I like the idea of the grinder weapon, I’m just not a fan of the design they went for. The way it extends out just looks… weird. If there’s a way to model it without that, it’ll look much better IMO. Kinda wish they’d release an alternative carapace as well.

I've been really hoping that the codex will finally make the big knights more viable as the focus of the army. The battle force being "oops all Wardogs" doesn't inspire much confidence though....

I am afraid that the sentence "This kit is the new core Questoris Knight box for Chaos Knights armies[...]" implies that the "normal" Questoris were kicked out of the faction.

There are 12 datacards coming, currently there are 10 knight datacards. If one is the army rule and one is the new knight nothing should be lost.

So I guess cerastus and acastus knights won't be in the codexes again, if there is only 12 datasheets. Such a shame that you have a chunk of the old FW knights in plastic, but internal GW politics is hindering them from being added to the codexes.

I hope the lancers are still useable for the army and aren't booted. However, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Honestly I'd be a little bit surprised if they got more than three detachments (the Wardogs, Iconoclast and Infernal), perhaps Freeblades taking up another slot, but they're kind of covered by the ally rules at the moment.

Grotmas won't be in the book, and I'd expect at least 4 as a minimum, as that seems to be their minimum.

The article for the new Imperial Knight variant said that there is no Combat Patrol Section in that Codex. And since both flavours of Knight got a WD Patrol that is now also available to download, I guess the Chaos Knights will also not have a new Combat Patrol in their Codex. So there should be no CP specific Datacards.
