Cloud Runner
Could the seemingly large axe just be a case of forced perspective? It's the closest part of the model in the picture, and the angle could just be making it look oversized - a full 360 and other :cuss:s will really help. Either way, I'll still go with swords as a true Knight of Caliban Edited May 27 by Cloud Runner Weird copy paste multiple typing Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385964-mkii-assault-marines-ft-chainaxes/page/2/#findComment-6112701 Share on other sites

Could be, worse it could be a Sgt axe and therefore a larger one-off (I hope this is not the case, I'd really appreciate seeing 1 chainaxe per marine, they really don't need to be gatekeeping them at this point). I thought, with how much they were talking about it, it might be a shot across the bow at a specific 30k youtuber who has frequently criticized the overly large size of more recent releases melee weapons. Anyway I personally like these, even if the axe is a bit big, and I think they will be great for SoH Reavers, WE Red Hand Destroyers, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385964-mkii-assault-marines-ft-chainaxes/page/2/#findComment-6112744 Share on other sites

Matcap86
The minis themselves are great but those absurd weapons absolutely ruin them for me. Like they're using toy weapons. No Foes Remain
All chainaxes is a nope from me, where are my chainswords GW? Include a few chainaxes sure, WE players would love them, but I can't understand why chainswords wouldn't be included. Nephaston
All chainaxes does mean the melee upgrade kit has another use beyond tuning tacticals into despoilers. Xirix
Just to mirror a lot of you, I absolutely love these except the chain axes. It's nice that the MKVI chainswords fit, but that's still a lot to spend just to specifically put chainswords on these ones. From what I can recall the connective nubs should be near identical with regular power packs, so you can just use these as footsloggers and use the jump packs elsewhere. Yeah, for an extra £30 per 10 (well it'll probably stretch once you add the specials in) you can get the chainswords back. That's a nope from me, I was mainly looking at them as I've already wasted one edition waiting for non beakie assault marines, but I'm going to hate these as soon as MKIV with chainswords come out, so I guess I'm waiting to hope the game lives long enough to get the models I actually want. Lupercals chosen
I feel like GW are not showing the WE version of these just to trigger me - you've finally put chainaxes on HH marines and painted them as.... Iron Warriors! They've even continued the trolling by using Salamanders as the alternative scheme/build! Damn you GW!!!
