The Pounder
So I was day dreaming about how to add a bit more Imperial flavour into my Krieg collection. I really love the idea of theming my collection around an Imperial Crusade. (Second Barbarossa Crusade) I think first I’ll be adding an Inquisitor and a Deep Striking unit of Grey Knights. Not sure if it will be effective but it’s definitely worth it for the painting project!! I was wondering if anyone else had tried some Allies in their lists? Was it fun? I don’t currently own the Agents Codex so help would be appreciated! CyderPirate
I often use assassins, and sometimes throw in Navy Breachers, Rogue Trader/Armsmen. I'm not a very good player, though - so can't really offer much advice. I tended to put the breachers in reserve and bring them on late to harass a back-field objective or sneak a mission. Infiltrating the rogue trader and friends up to the midfield has been kinda handy for an early objective grab but they don't really have the teeth to threaten anything tough. I like the Eversor but haven't had great success, but you can learn from my mistakes and avoid charging them into anything armed with flamers or a decent invuln. OverchargeThis!
I can get a 6-man inquisitorial agent squad and chimera for 130 points. Cheap for sitting on point and projecting fire downrange. It has a servitor with plasma cannon that shoots through the hatch. Focslain
Earlier in 10th I was fielding Armigars in my guard force for kicks. Also added Canis Rex for a 1500 pts tournament cause it was an easy add (his 450 pts so it was my standard 1K plus him). Next crusade campaign I'm looking to add knights and maybe some assassins. It's mostly for flavor over meta. So if your looking at a literal crusade force I say go for it. The Pounder
@CyderPirate, I’m coming from a similar angle! I think Assassins are definitely something I’ll think about! @OverchargeThis!, sounds like fun! @Focslain, yeah, I like the idea of one day having a Knight Household to fight alongside the Crusade. Thanks for the suggestions guys! I think I’m going to build up the “Second Barbarossa Crusade” as a way of having a theme to my collection! If I base them all the same and continue with the blue stripe and skull motif for an army badge I reckon it’ll make for a solid and unified force! Watch this space!!
