Like my issue now, is how far the next ed is, so if anyone in the backend of this ed gets a codex early on in the coming cycle, its not a great:ermm:

How many dexs are left now:ermm:

A year at best of play from the dex. Less for Votann DE etc. WE got 6 months at the end of 9th...

Edit: Just to clarify I hope 11th is 10.5 and our codecies carry over.

We're still waiting on LoV, DE, BT, GK, SM part deux...I think thats it? Oh and Imperial Knights (as well as individual SW release)

Im thinking smaller individual chapter releases (IF, RG, WS, IH etc) will happen at the same time as SM part 2. Maybe with a bunch of combat patrols or other similiar style boxes which will be ready in time for christmas or so. Pure speculation on my part but it should leave room for the other factions in between.

The ancient mentioned was just a conversion by a GW employee.

It was never a part of the initial wave of rumours.

I had solid info back then for the release and no ancient was part of it.

It did get to meme status, which makes it funny that it happened now.

To get Technical, it was mentioned on a post years ago around the same time I saw the conversion one (which I thought was real), from the back of that my whispers were still telling me an Ancient is coming and chat used to troll me saying I know nothing, this is where the whole vindication banter thing came from, fun times, glad to see the whispers were indeed correct.

Like I said. No such ancient existed at time.

It was the conversion by maxime corbeil that got confused for a new model.

In no way does that mean the ancient being released now wasn't done and existed at the time.

We know GW holds back models from release after they have been finished.  We have multiple examples of this.  It makes sense holding back a model or two from when a specific faction is designed, so they have a new model available for interim codex releases or anniversary/collector edition type releases.

Cheers for clarifying ;)

As soon as I saw the ancient I could picture you screaming vindication.

I still think your rumour of a special chaplain, which for me points to Judiciar might come to pass.

I was going to mention that when the Lord of Virulence released (2021) it was mentioned that it had originally been sculpted alongside the rest of the Death Guard line (2017)...

...but then I spent 15 minutes searching around and couldn't find anything stating that. Does anyone else remember that, or am I crazy?

I have that memory in my brain as well, but I couldn't point you in a direction of "proof".

Guess we'll find out once someone gets a hold of the sprue?

I think that would just tell us when the mould was made, not when the figure was sculpted.

(Like the Desolation Squad sprues say 2022, but those sculpts were apparently hanging around for years beforehand.)

Aye, him. Iirc the only things that didn't come true were CSM Bikers and a BT Ancient, which were notable just because everything else had been accurate.

At the time I think it was chalked upto them mistaking a slightly kitbashed Vanilla Ancient for a new model, but maybe it was this one afterall?

The leak mentioned that there were new models planned for three different guard regiments, IIRC mentioning full new ranges for them. Plastic Krieg kill team came out shortly after, and then the new Cadians were revealed about two years later in 2023, followed by the rest of Krieg this year. Still nothing for the third regiment. I know some people think they might have been referring to the Aquilon kill team, but I maintain a sneaking suspicion it'll be Catachan.

In regards to model release years, I recall hearing that a substantial number of more recent releases are models whose sculpts, and even sprues in a few cases, have been around for a few years now. Covid apparently hit them hard in regards to distribution, so they've been playing catch-up for the last few years, made harder in the States by the bad winter weather here in Tennessee a couple years ago.

Cadians were revealed in 2022. I can remember that pretty distinctly, as I'd just moved into my new flat.

If it's a small update edition, which is what all rumors and experience and precedent point to, the Codexes will be usable for years still.

They index every other edition, at current precedent. This is an unfounded fear.

That depends on when codex's get replaced in the 11th cycle, its not always the same, apart from marines being firstish:ermm:

Given it's BT they'll continue to proudly announce they are improving the service in your local area, next year next year next year next year next year next year next year next year next year next year...

We know IK got pushed back too (With the index release confirming it), so it might even be sooner than we expect.  Though it does feel like maybe the order might be CK, then GK, then BT as opposed to the GK then BT the "Coming Next" graphic implies.

Oh yeah, they were. Got reveal year mixed up with release year. Still, I suspect we'll be seeing Catachan a few years from now.

Valrak on stream last night were very very vague but said something on the line of "Black Templars will be getting mlre stuff" wouldnt say if was dor this release or newxt one though.

I’ve said it for the last few months, like I said, I heard it was multiple release. It could be two, three, four or five models.

i know it’s definitely two for now :)
