Some neat sculpts to sprinkle into an force and the LT silhouette seems to be a phobos/reiver one, but I would've hoped for this to be an avenue of maybe sprucing up something other than generic loyalist marines. Could've been Deathwatch, or any of the Cult Traitor Legions in the style of Death Guard or even generic CSM.

Well technically, since they split the unit three different ways (reiver LT, phobos LT, combi LT, two of which are locked into other sprues) this would only be the second of one of these. Missed opportunity to make it a Eliminator Lieutenant. Or just a general phobos LT multipart kit.

Or since they've rebranded this series from Space Marine Heroes, to Warhammer Heroes, something that's not a Marine at all. A power armoured Sisters Kill Team would've been most appreciated over here.

 

If it has to be Marines, the Grey Knights could also use some love for their 13 year old range.

I must confess I find this miniatures a bit...boring. Too simple, with very few thing making them worth for the purchase.

Nothing really special on them. I expected other things.

Though Grey Knights, I am sure, would probably prefer a full refresh before getting a blind box kill team. Wouldn't even be surprised if they get a complete overhaul in some way.

Disappointing that if you get the box of 8 you aren't guaranteed to get the whole set as the other SM heroes series were.

I'll just wait for the next edition of kill team. :/

They dont seem to be anything 'special'.
As (another) long term DA collector I might have overlooked the plain-ness to have the actual DA kill team and cards etc as-is but only if I could get the full team as one set. I am not just buying blind boxes randomly for this.

I had held out hope this would be the edition for it, but when GW says you get a upgrade sprue to an existing kit for your 3rd new release since 2011, a blind box release would've looked pretty good too. Here's to 11th edition.

If they're going through the trouble of designing new models, I wish they'd push them a little further. You can keep them chapter-agnostic, but just give them a bit more character. Until I looked at the sculpted bases, I thought they had just plucked stock designs from the reivers, infernus crews, etc. 

Make the poses more dynamic. Make the wargear feel less OTS. As they stand, these feel like a collection of the marines they ask new hires to sculpt as part of their on-boarding. Perfectly competent, but almost completely redundant.

Also, why not just make them chapter specific? Give the DA eight unique sculpts they can sprinkle in their units. Collectors will be happy to have a cooler looking kill team. I can't imagine there's a massive audience for these among generic players.

I liked most of the earlier ones, but this is just sorta disappointing. They don't have a lot of character and the fact that you're not even guaranteed to get them all by buying a box of eight means the Kill Team angle is a bit pointless. I'm not going to buy random generic minis until I get enough rules to field a team. It seems very strange to introduce the complete randomness along with the Kill Team rules, as they sort of cancel each other out.

Really, terminally underwhelming. The sternguard is the only one with a hint of something, and that's at a push (fit). Blind box offerings have been getting worse.

I like them (but I am a SM fan boy so I like them all…) but do agree with others they’re nothing to write home about. 
 

I will get them to paint up alongside the previous serise which I’ve done as Red Wolves. At that point I’m only really a few models of full squads….

Space Marine Heroes models are always generic (not counting the Death Guard series). They're "Dark Angels" only because they're green. This is similar to how the previous runs were "Blood Angels" only because they were red. The benefit of these models is that they give hobbyists slightly different poses, allowing for a little more variation in their armies. I don't think I need to comment on the [perceived] "drawbacks" of this run as other hobbyists have beaten me to it.

 

The real attraction of the Space Marine Heroes line is that they allow you to see if you can hook some prospective hobbyist into the plastic crack addiction with a cost-effective purchase (i.e., one relatively cheap model as opposed to a whole boxed set). The push-fit allows the prospective hobbyist to get a model together without having to do all of the cutting, filing, and gluing (and drilling of barrel holes!). It's a sort of miniature wargame hobbyist honey trap.

 

What I'm looking forward to is the possibility of one or more of the following:

• Inclusion of these miniatures in a new Space Marine Adventures game (great gateway games)
• The sale of all of these models and their cards as a boxed set for Kill Team
• And if we're really lucky (?), we might see these as a made-to-order set allowing you to order option later on down the road, as we saw with the Terminators last year.

All three of these options allow hobbyists to purchase each (all) of the desired models without the risk of the blind buy (I hate that sales model).
