Honestly, I think I could make these from the existing box-kits. I get that Space Marines typically won’t have as much ‘personality’ as their Chaos counterparts, and leaving off anything Chapter-related will broaden the scope of buyers - but there’s nothing that stands out for this set in n my eyes. At least the previous series (the one that’s in the KT starter set) had some more interesting bits like the sniper that n camp-cloak.

I am going to add my voice to the chorus of "meh." Dark Angels are the only Imperium faction that even remotely sparks my interest, but these models don't do anything for me. I'm not sure what I would have wanted, but this just isn't it.

It's for the best. I've got a big backlog of models to paint before I can even think of dipping my toe into a kill team which inevitably grows into a new army. Maybe I could just paint Cypher to go with my CSM to scratch that DA itch.

A Fallen KT, using either CSM or AoD rules is a very cool thing.

I thought about it some and while bland this set (if it becomes part of an updated Angels of Death PDF) has some nice new weapon options for Imperial Space Marines wearing normal armour. I'm still disappointed by a lack of wargear that was present in Space Marine teams from previous editions of the game. It's a bit rough when I have to use Chaos Marine rules to run regular Space Marines.

What’s fun. Is the reaction of bland is the same the last one got, but after some time, most people tend to look at that one fairly positively.

i do think there’s some nice poses in this set - I love the walking intercessor (soft spot for walking poses), the infiltrator is quite nice for pose and I really like the riever.

the assault intercessor is uninspired, as is the infernus marine.

i quite like the sergeant, mostly because i do like alternative chest decoration when it shows up.

the lieutenant might be nice too from the silhouette.

from an actual kill team rules perspective, i imagine these will be distinct from angels of death, which is a shame. It would be much better to just have them add rules to that kill team.

if I can find a cost effective way to get them all, i still probably will… because I like adding pose variety (I have both wolves battleline sets coming for my blood angels so I can mix them in)

No doubt other have said it, but these are seriously uninspired. The first two sets were decent, interesting poses unavailable in plastic kits, plasma gunner with bionic arm, reloading pose, grenade throwing etc, and the terminators were super characterful with their bare faces, beards, servo skulls etc, however these just seem bland. No interesting gubbins or personalisation of wargear, three of seven with identical mohichans, five of seven in similar one leg forward shooting poses. Even the melee specialist is shooting rather than chopping.

I think what is lacking from the set is a Captain or a HQ model of some kind. The last set of heroes had a really nice Captain character that elevated the group, and I liked the random assortment of Heavy Intercessor, Sniper, etc.

Looks like the First has run out of helmets.   I get it, but not for me.

The 'Heroes models (in the past) have come with the choice of helmeted/unhelmeted heads for each one.

Presumably GW've just chosen to show the squad with buckets off for promo pictures, but they will still all have the option to be wearing a helmet.
