The Core rulebook looks like it comes with cardboard tokens of most things that you should need, although the Equipment pack would be worth it assuming you are enjoying the game.

You can download a 'lite' version of the core rules here; you'll probably need a set of Activation counters also - currently you can only get these in the Starter Set, but you could likely pick up some from ebay.

This box is wall to wall awesome for me. I love both new teams and the new terrain looks amazing. Getting Xeno's terrain is awesome, and GW including breach-able walls and different kinds of doors is going to make playing the close-combat maps sooooo much better. I remaining hope is that as we get more info on this box we see a new set of crit-ops/tac-ops cards.

No release date that I've seen.  They usually do a preview event, then a few months later it'll get a WarCom article, then go into pre-orders, and a couple weeks later be out.

The counters are in the rulebook as well. It's a small box rather than just the book.

Can someone who's a little more up to date on the Deathwatch correct me, but I thought the markings for the Watch Fortress were supposed to be on the right knee?

The Watch Sgt has an Inquisition icon on his right knee now, I wonder if they switched the markings over to the left because of that.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression this was the season box that would be available all year, replacing Hivestorm.

That would be excellent. If so, I can buy the Drukhari combat patrol off the shelf at a store before it disappears forever and still end up with this KT box before it too disappears.

 

If not, I've got some tough choices to make.

Necron terrain has always been my jam.  I'm still a bit upset that when IAXII came out I wasn't in a position to buy a full necron tomb world from forgeworld. 

I think it was a 4x4 board, four monoliths, I think the weapon sprues from the catacomb barges and something else. Proper Dawn of War Dark Crusade vibes that looked amazing.

But I didn't live where I do now, have the income or lifestyle I do now, or even play necrons. But as far as FW level extravagance goes, like a Titan or Thunderhawk, I still somehow regret it. 

 

Looking back, it was probably *only* about £1000, but getting your HH Legion resins costs you half that for about twenty models these days (£538.50 for the Dark Angels unique legion models, not including heads, pads or doors - that gets you three quarters of one dreadnought, a quarter of another dreadnought and 20 full models).

 

Anyway, more to the point, how likely is this necron themed terrain to end up surplus to requirements and on ebay? 

I want the walls to see if I could bring myself to paint them, but I don't want anything else.

If it's anything like Into The Dark (KT'19 Season 2's first box) it'll be a FOMO box.

 

Technically Hivestorm was (is?) a FOMO box as well, they just made A LOT of it.

The last box with Gallowdark terrain (Gallowfall) was £110. With the Tomb World looking to be a similar amount of terrain, plus the 10 Necron Warriors, I'd guess at least £120.

Are you sure ItD was a FOMO box? I was sure it replaced Octarius once it came around, and I don't remember it being hard to get
