Hopefully the technoarcheologist doesn't raise the cost of the servitorbox, I could see myself buy 2 and gain quite a few priests and parts for Taghmata.

Will the commandos and novitiate come with the specialists parts? Kinda weird if they show them built in this promo and then not include them.

Anyway, more to the point, how likely is this necron themed terrain to end up surplus to requirements and on ebay?

I want the walls to see if I could bring myself to paint them, but I don't want anything else.

First, we don't know if other boxes in the season will have expansions to the terrain in the same way Gallowdark boxes did; in that case, the first set came with the most terrain; every other box in the series had SOME terrain that added versatility to Gallowdark terrain, but never as much as the original set. ALL of it was eventually sold separately, although the expansion set were limited.

Since then, most terrain has been made available separately, but often in smaller sets or subsets than you might get with the big box.

I too am VERY interested in the terrain, as well as the NPO Necrons that come with the set, though I'm not as keen on the look of "This stone facade is crumbling to reveal the Necron technology beneath" look, I think if I paint the stone grey, I can keep the effect, but make it more subtle than GW's sort of sandstone/ metal contrast.

The only boarding terrain type thing is this, currently;

As I said, the expansion sets that were released separately WERE limited- I should have added that they've long since sold out, but that doesn't change the fact that they WERE released separately, which was important in the context of the conversation I was having with the person I was responding to- he likes the Necron Terrain, but doesn't want the kill teams, and the trend of making terrain available separately, even for a limited time, suggests there might be a way for him to get the terrain without the models.

And BTW, if you flip over to the Kill Team section of the Webstore, they also have this: https://www.warhammer.com/en-GB/shop/killzone-gallowdark-2024?queryID=2c3524ee7ab514e865b2dfde8bd526f8

It doesn't include any pieces that aren't available in the bigger 40k branded box; if I remember correctly, it's essential a half-box.

The Commandos will come with all parts since those are on the regular sprue and the Novitates need the Simulacrum from the extra sprue to have all options for 40k available, so I guess both units come with all options for Kill Team as well.

Are you sure ItD was a FOMO box? I was sure it replaced Octarius once it came around, and I don't remember it being hard to get

It was a FOMO box in terms of it was a one run box but they made plenty of them.  The launch boxes of the seasons seem to be made in decent numbers Octarius, IttD and Hivestorm were all easy to get, can't comment on Salvation as I wasn't interested in it.

Its the rest of the season boxes that seem to be comically underproduced.  This was worst in KT21 Season 2, some of those boxes were so under produced that many Independant and GW stores didnt even get 1 copy.  Whilst it has improved since then its still not good.

So precedent would suggest that Tomb World will be a FOMO box but should be available for those who want it, where as Shadowhunt will be rare as rocking horse.

Damn, I thought my £125 prediction might be lowballing it by a few quid but I didn't expect it to be more than Hivestorm - especially since it lacks the core rulebook and this year's comp deck.

ITD Style walls and entire Necron Warriors sprue for NPO reasons

Listened to some speculation from Glass Half Dead that it could be because when Deathwatch releases separately, it's going to be a 5-man box and therefore Tomb World costs what it does because you're technically getting three boxes worth of Kill Teams (plus the other stuff).

Could of course just be GW hiking prices because they know it'll sell of course... that seems more realistic, but it is food for thought.

Yeah this might be too rich for my liking as well. I'm really interested in getting the Necron team and the terrain but everything is just extra for me. More Necron Warriors? Sure I won't say no but I don't really need them. The Deathwatch? They're cool and if this were cheaper I'd be happy to pop them in the backlog for a future project but I have no immediate plans for them. I'm can wait for the Necron team to get it's separate release or I'll keep a eye on ebay.

Up for pre-order next weekend; along with the Servitors and Raveners Kill Teams and Tyranid terrain from the last (Typhon) set.

Nice, those canoptek crawlers are neat! Gonna be keeping an eye on eBay for those guys.

Closer look at the Deathwatch sprues, as well as the heads and pauldrons.

The Tacticus Marines have emblems for the Brazen Skulls, Exorcists, Wolfspear, Emperor’s Spears, Scythes of the Emperor, Storm Lords, Blood Knights, Red Scorpions, Iron Snakes, Black Talons, Iron Hands, Brazen Claws, and Lamenters**.

Gravis pads include livery for the Salamanders, Raven Guard, Imperial Fists, Dark Angels, Flesh Tearers, and Novamarines, while there are Phobos pads for Ultramarines, Blood Angels, White Scars, Brazen Minotaurs, and Raptors. Of course, some of these icons are shared between Chapters – only separated by colour schemes – so you could have Crimson Fists, Hawk Lords, and more if you want.

** Yes, those check marks on the Lantern shoulder pad are sculpted in too – no more wobbly freehand required.

Iron Snakes and Storm Lords are a nice surprise. Very nice successor chapter representation here; black talons are a real deep-cut.

Knowing that I'd have to buy two new Kill Team kits to get the number of Deathwatch marines that are in this box makes the price less of a barrier. I also have NO Necrons yet, and my collecting style is to have a little of everything and only go all in on the stuff I truly love. I though about starting Crons in 9th when they were in all the starter boxes, and I didn't; I've been kinda looking for an excuse/ opportunity to buy in when it's part of an added-value offering... And this is it,,, Especially since there are Two Cron units in the box if you include the NPO's.

This will probably be the only season box I can afford though- I have to snap up the Drukhari Combat Patrol from my the shelf of a local store before it disappears forever- it just sold out online in the Canadian webstore this week.

UGH I want everything from this box.

Those Deathwatch are destined to become a Kill Team of operatives from my various DIY Chapters, to make it easier for my nephews to identify which character does what since they'll be different colours.

The necrons are destined to join my kinda-sorta-synthwave-palette Necrons whose dynasty name I really need to finally settle on,

and the terrain doesn't simply appeal to me, it actively calls to me, a siren song across time and distance that demands I not only paint it but magnetize the whole lot somehow for even easier assembly and storage, to aid in making my as-yet-unnamed Necrons into the proper terrifying and cinematic threat to the galaxy (or at least the bit my nephews are defending) that they should be.

This of course means there is a roughly 0.5% chance of me getting it before the box vanishes forever, but throne help me I'll have to at least try

Man the blood angels heads in this set are better than the blood angels heads in the actual blood angels upgrades haha
