Harbingers of Sorrow chapter (DiY project)

A bit of lore, as I start on a new project. Got a few bits ordered on the way now to choose a scheme. Keeping in the theme, I might go for a darker red, with black as a secondary colour and golden highlights.

After messing about for a while on SM2, I'm quite happy with it.

Flesh Tearers red and Ushabi Bone.

Last few days have been busy (I'm on holidays yey) and i finally read the end and the death volume.

 

Also been reading a bit about pre heresy Blood Angels, and used a bit of that for some inspiration for my Chapter. 

 

Next week when I'm back I will hopefully start on the modeling. 

 

I would appreciate some feedback on the IA as I'm not an expert on BA, but I think it keeps well with the theme.

Which plastic bits can I use to model something like:

Bullgryn have tank track armor like that. Maybe if you sand them smooth they’d work. 
have to cut them off the chest armor though

I'd be inclined to try make it out of plasticard and a scribing tool to get the trim.

Does not need to be exactly the same, something similar. I prefer something easy to just cut and paste. Lensoven had a good suggestion.

So started working on my boys.

Now I don't know if I use my conversion or the normal sword with sword bro arms.

Any opinions?

Another small update.

Got a pose for my Lt. and made some work on the dread. 

 

What's the base size on the Lt.?

40 mm, regardless of Lieutenant flavour.

Got the last bits so a little update;

I decided to use the Sword Bro arm just to give it a little movement, since the legs give the impression he's in motion, as if reaching to get into stance.

 

Been a busy week, but i should get some minis done and primed over the weekend ;)

Also had a dream about Sanguinious. Should have not read the End and Death Trilogy in a row.

The hood is intended. Like a badge of office. It will look less DA with a few more bits thrown at him.
