Filkarion Posted yesterday at 03:59 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:59 PM With a grand total of 0 games in HH 1 and one 1000 pts game in HH 2 I am not exactly in a great place to make any "informed decision" about what to do to set up a funny army. I got quite a lot of negativity about Blood Angels rites of war, and I see the point but I also like a lot. Actually my list is Like: Fear prime slot and some nice flamethrower options The detachment, even if it could be better I do not know: The reaction The gambit The +1 str on charge. Seems good but lots of things negate it Assault cannons on everything... but are they good for the price? Do not like: Inferno pistol being d1 instead of d2 No more inferno pistol Moritat Bad deep strike rules for us and our jump pack guys (no charges, only one unit per turn in 4 turns) So what do you think? And where do we go from here? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386438-revenants-and-angels-blood-angels-in-hh-3rd-ed/ Share on other sites
Spagunk
Deep strike rules with hardly any option to adjust or expand the number of units per turn hurts like hell. You're only ever going to have maybe 4 deep strikes per game and they all come in piecemeal. You're basically feeding units to a wood chipper in my opinion. So sure, we get cool assault oriented detachments but you have to foot slog everything and that means exposing them to fire all game. I think, much like in 2.0, they don't know what to do with BA generally. We have no gotchas, no gimmicks other than "We like to charge" which was heavily nerfed this edition. Night lords get all sorts of status oriented rules and we got "Hit them with a sword, idk". That said, I think a good unit might be a heavy support squad with assault cannons in a drop pod. You can land at least within 24" of whatever you want to delete pretty reliably and lay down 15 assault cannon shots to a stuck in unit. But this was definitely scarier in 2.0 since it was 4 shots by default. It just feels very...meh. Not bad, better than nothing but not exciting either.
