Hi all!

Besides working on a cheeky Horus Heresy army I'm also preparing a 40K army for a local tournament. I've got about a month left to finish up 2000 pnts of Emperor's Children, but most of it is about 80% done, so I figure I have plenty of time ;)

The recipe for the paintjob is heavily influenced by the Fletcher Giles tutorial, though I've made some adjustments here and there. The snow/ice bases contrasts fairly well with the pink on the models but I realise I still have quite some work to do before these can be placed on a table.

[THE ARMYLIST]

> Fulgrim

> Winged Daemon Prince

> Lord Exultant

> Lord Kakaphonist

> Lord Kakaphonist

> 10 Infractors

> 10 Infractors

> 5 Tormentors

> Flawless Blades

> Noise Marines

> Noise Marines

> Maulerfiend

> War dog Stalker

I know, it's not THE most competitive list out there, but I just wanna have some fun and play cool units. The Land Raider is not part of the army, but sometimes they do end up in the picture :P

I still have a lot of work to do for this model... I placed him on a wrecked Armiger, but I'll also be adding snow on the base. The whip is a small little conversion. So far I've just done the basecoat on the armor, but I'll be adding more.

Flawless-Blades-01.jpg

I'm nearly done with these guys... I just need to clean up the skin, paint the vials and finish the bases... perhaps some small detail here and there but in general I feel I'm close to finishing these guys. On the board I'm not really a big fan of their rules and how they perform, but damn, they look so cool! It's an autoinclude for me :P I wish I had more points for the landraider to deliver them safely...

Fulgrim-01.jpg

Fulgrim and the Stalker... I used magnets on Fulgrim's waist to connect the snake body to his torso, so I can still transport this huge model. I just finished up on a first small layer, saving him for last ;) The Stalker has some small conversions... the cannon is a conversion from some noise marine bits, I've swapped out the head and added bling on the shoulderpads.

Infractors-01.jpg

The first Infractor squad... nearly done I'd say... I just need to finish the plumes, the cloth, skin... and clean up the bases...  also the sergeant needs an arm...

I've added snow to the bases, but it doesn't seem to photograph that well... I hope it'll look better on a picture after I clean up all the bases

Infractors-02.jpg

Second Infractor squad with a Lord Exultant. The lord is an absolute beast in combat for the small amount of points you actually have to pay for him. The squad itself is also nearly done, just like the first squad.

Landraider-01.jpg

Not in the actual army, but still part of my collection ;) It's a horrible model to assemble... all the plastic piece were warped, but as they are hard to find I had to make due... Quite happy with the paintjob so far, but I can't really seem to find room for this beast in a 2000 pnts list

Noise-marines-01.jpg

These Noise Marines are on my paintingstation at the moment. I have 2 units of them and right now working on their cannons. Sub-assembly makes everything so much easier to paint :P

I still need to do some work on them, but they are getting there... as with the rest of the army; still needs snow on the bases!

Tormentors-01.jpg

Last but not least... a small unit of Tormentors, 5 of them, because I had some points left :P The OSL still needs some cleaning up, but we are getting there :D

ALso in the background my Maulerfiend... Fairly cheap unit, and really cool to paint, but the AP is pretty disappointing :(

C&C is greatly appreciated!

Keep up the good work. Many of your models, especially the Flawless Blades and the base of your daemon Prince, are stunningly beautiful. Your choice of color palette is also very well thought out.

Thanks for the kind words :D

The colors really pop, and because of the blue/green oilwash mistakes can be more forgiving and I don't really have to worry about painting black material (which I also hate doing).

Expect some more updates in the upcoming days; I need to finish up on these guys :P

I love the various EC colour schemes that have come out on B&C since the release of the new codex - they are all so different, but so appropriate visually.  This includes yours, which I really like - its a great take on the old-school pink and black scheme - its paring with the green-blue tabards works great.

If you are interested, here are links to the EC done by some of the other members:

Boc's delightfully grubby white and lavender EC

My own obnoxiously violet caped EC

Slaanbull's heavily mutated pink and black EC

Sume's muted gray and pastel EC

Inquisitor Lensoven's violently blue EC

Cpt.Danjou's muted purple and bright gold EC

Prot's purple and black EC

By Spear of Achilles' white and purple EC

Oh wow! There's more than I expected! I've seen a couple of these earlier and I think you are absolutely right about the huge variety of different colour schemes! They look great!

I saw your project as well, the use of negative space on the cloaks looks really cool! There's a lot of talent on these boards :D

That pink is very striking, just what the EC would want

These are looking really good, that OSL on that last image is particularly beautiful!

They are hard to miss on the battlefield, that is for sure! Haha!

Thnx for the comment about the OSL; I'm just dipping my toes into the OSL-pond... but we're getting there :D
