I modified the turret ring and the turret itself. The original turret ring and the commander's hatch were blocked off with 1.2mm thick sheets of plasticard.  The cut up Predator top plate was glued onto the cross shape I made with three pieces of sprue inside the original Speeder's turret ring, the remaining gap was filled in with milliput. The front periscope usually seen above the Predator Tank driver compartment was then glued into the gap between the turret and the plasticard to give the impression of an unmanned tank turret. 

 

Pardon the gaps and the milliput dust. At the moment the only parts I've glued together are the engines and the periscope. The gaps will be cleared out once everything is properly assembled. Everything else is bluetacked together until I get the sealed cockpit parts I've ordered. More updates soon.

Last night I realized that I created a turret that didn't have any depression for its gun. The original gun mantlet from the Predator turret kept getting caught on the new turret ring so I had to fix it. 

It can aim up and down properly again.

I don't have much constructive to say but I just want to let you know that I'm very curious where the winds of hobbying will take you. Given your excellent, tidy finish and an excellent feel of aesthetics (or taste!), I'm sure it'll look great. The more boxy/angular shapes tie in with the SM design philosophy. The deodorant container as a base for the the vehicle was cute all those years ago but, yeah, a mix of more modern SM kits is better.

I don't have a significant update today because I didn't have time to work on my models this week, most of my hobby time was spent re-organizing all my parts into a new bits box I bought. As I was sorting all the kits and parts something clicked. I had to check it right away and just as I thought the Land Speeder Vengeance turret was a perfect fit for the ring that houses the augur array on the Rhino Primaris. I just need to find another Rhino chassis to house these parts. I think I'll keep the turret open as a nod to the classic Razorback.

Started work on all the Tyranids I've collected from various box sets. Ended up building the Tyranid terrain from Typhon box. I tried to use plastic cement to fuse all the gaps present in this terrain set, but it didn't fully work so some parts were gap filled with Mr.Surfacer and some red sprue goo. This terrain was also damaged in transit when I bought the box so I had to reconstruct the spikes on one brood nest and one underbrood mound. Really disappointed by how this set was designed, the spore vents and capillary towers have these horrible gaps going across all the vents. Will be building some Hormagants and Termagants next while I wait for the rest of the Landspeeder parts to arrive. I picked Hive Fleet Behemoth as the colour scheme because they fought one of my favourite chapters before and they are my favourite 3rd Edition colour scheme.

never much into tyranids, but behemoth is my favorite too. Maybe because it was one of the original 2nd ed color schemes...? Anyway, it looks like despite your struggles, you managed to get that terrain together beautifully!

Finally got the 3D printed Storm Speeder parts, but they are slightly warped. I'll attempt to correct them in some warm water later, but I did more work on the basic frame and cockpit. Started with cutting out the asymmetric part above the driver's seat and reconstructed the frame with plasticard. After that was finished I did some dry fit posing to see how I'll close the cockpit before I start building a plasticard enclosure for the whole thing.

 

 

I'm not sure if I should just insert the parts into the gaps or if I should remove the edges of the cockpit frame and replace them with the new parts. Both options will require me to expand the bar in the middle of the cockpit.

You've got such a meticulous process! You are really skillful at making each and every detail look like it was part of the original model (which is of course, the point, i suppose). Basically, its just a longwinded way of saying, I really admire what you're doing here. Its not a strength of mine, so its good inspiration.
