Tallarn Commander
I too prefer the grey. Both are superbly weathered! The Pounder
Thanks very much lads! I was leaning more towards the grey one too so glad that was chosen. (Plus it was easier to achieve!!) My orders have been dispatched so hopefully they’ll arrive by the weekend so I can get going! kabaakaba
I like both, but tbh camo looks worse cause it's overly scratched, like someone specially scratched the ribs. If you make same weathering they should looks equally good. Also for my taste grey one need modulation since without it it's look a bit plastic. As always all IMHO and who am I to suggest The Pounder 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386548-the-pounder%E2%80%99s-40k-and-hh-project-log/page/4/#findComment-6156358 Share on other sites

The Pounder
Thanks for the replies. My order is in the Country! So here’s hoping I get them soon. I can’t wait to get going. The Pounder
Well the rain has stopped (briefly) so I managed to get the Dorn varnished! I spent all my free time working on this, this week. I’m really happy with the result. I know a lot of people don’t like this kit but I loved working on it. I found the hole on the bottom actually aided my painting as it gave me somewhere to grip to! Here’s the pics: Krieg Rogal Dorn Battle Tank Krieg Rogal Dorn Battle Tank Krieg Rogal Dorn Battle Tank Krieg Rogal Dorn Battle Tank Krieg Rogal Dorn Battle Tank The gunner and Commander are both embellished with Tiny Legends heads. The Commander also has arms from the Command Squad arms! I wanted him to look like a commander rather than a Commissar so he’s in the green rather than black. The Pounder
Thanks @BadgersinHills! You really should they’re a fantastic force to collect. Cheers @W.A.Rorie. The Pounder
Seems ages since I’ve given an update. I’ve been working on this Krieg Command Squad 2 hours a night to get it done asap. I decided to add more red on the Lord Commissar, my reasoning was that he needed to stand out plus it’s traditional. Here’s the pics: Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad Apologies for the wall of photos but I’m really happy with these! The Pounder
I ran the numbers last night and I realised that the only way I can get a whole army together before 11th is released is to work on my Ultramarines. So with that in mind I’ve painted Chief Librarian Tigurius! The Pounder
Thanks so much @Dr_Ruminahui! I really suck at faces so that means a lot! @Heraclite, thanks, it’s all about the layers. Cheers @W.A.Rorie. I’m really happy with how the Ultramarines are coming along! Working on these blue Space Romans has been a great pallet cleanser from my usual khaki schemes. I finally got round to painted the Bladeguard Veterans I got for Christmas! They’ve been embellished with bitz from Archies Forge, I’m really doubling down on the Greco Roman aesthetic with them and these fit the bill nicely. I’m intending on building 1k for the start of 11th and see where it takes me. The Pounder
Thanks @BadgersinHills! I really enjoy using decals as my freehand skills are terrible! For this week’s update, I’ve finished the first unit of Victrix Honour Guard! They took longer than expected due to the sheer amount of detail on these sculpts. I have to say that I love a flag! but the size of the banner of Macragge is ridiculous! That said it was very fun to paint and it’ll add a focal point to the force. Galron
Phenomenal work man. I think your thread has given me motivation to just do a consolidated thread for all my many projects and maybe actually get something finished. Do you work one squad/vehicle at a time or do you have several units sitting on your workspace?
