Absolutely stunning - I love the aesthetic and quality and EVERYTHING. The banner, the metallics, the armour and excellent edge highlights. You've outdone yourself with these.

One note/remark/criticism: I think you missed a bit of red along the 'bottom' edge of the cape. It's easy to overlook these kinds of things and painting it over with the tan paint will bring the models from 99% to perfect.

Thanks very much @BrotherCaptainArkhan!

Cheers @W.A.Rorie, I’m pleased with how they’re going but I’ll be working on some Krieg next I think.

@Galron you should go for it! I found I had like 4 threads open at some points, so decided to consolidate them!

As far as the work goes, I paint one at a time, though I batch paint all the bases.

@Bonehead, straight up mate! I usually paint for 2 hours a night. I make good use out of my wet pallet and a hair dryer!!

Thanks for the honest feedback @Brother Christopher, I completely missed that! I’ll put that right when I’m back from holiday!

Thanks again for all the interest!

  • 2 weeks later...

Well in spite of a busy week I’ve managed to find time to finish my latest rendition of Lord Marshal Dreir!

In my head canon he’s actually Marshal Marius Konstantin, leader of the now reformed 3rd Krieg Siege Regiment.

I’ve really enjoyed working on such a beautiful sculpt (especially with the head and torso swap)

So much so in fact I’ll be painting my Deathriders!

Here’s the pics:

Can’t wait to get started on the Deathriders!

Thanks for looking.

Thanks @W.A.Rorie and @BadgersinHills!

@Brother Christopher, I try to adapt my style to the faction I’m painting! I imagine Ultramarines to be shiny and clean whilst my Krieg should be grimy and well weathered! Glad you noticed the extra work I’ve put into his base (I’m trying to raise my basing game!)

I have a free weekend this week so hopefully I’ll have some progress to report soon!

Thanks @EmprahsStrongestGuardsman! If you like his base you’re gonna love what I’m working on now!

So I was listening to Fallen Angels audiobook while painting.

I was so inspired I had to work on some Dark Angels!

So here we go:

These were the only models I had built so it had to be them! Next up I’m back in the trenches with something a little different…..

They're absolutely great. The green does a lot of heavy lifting - you've found an excellent recipe that complements the black. What paints did you use? Even accounting for photos altering the colours a bit, it looks like something I'm looking for and could replace my DIY green mixes that are difficult to reproduce.

Thanks very much!

The green is simple enough. I started with a base of Caliban Green, highlighted that with Warpstone Glow, then added increasing amounts of Moot Green then a final highlight of pure Moot Green.

Hope that helps.

Update time!

This week I’ve been working on a proxy Leontus for my Krieg!

I wanted to make it fit in with the rest of the Korpsmen, so I decided to do a “high command” diorama.

This was made up of some Honour Guard bodies from Tiny Legends and what I had in the bitz box!

Here’s the results:

Really happy with how these turned out, I think it’s a good little scene and was a blast to paint!

Deathriders are up next! (Unless something else takes my fancy!)

That's a great little diorama and I really like the touches of blue on the Krieg.

They were some of the first models I go coming back to the hobby (via Kill Team) and I marvelled at the small details, knowing I couldn't paint them!

That's a really nice diorama. I really like the city on the "map table" (sorry, couldn't think of a better description ) - what was your source for this?

It helps, thank you!

And the diorama is ace!

Thanks @Rusted Boltgun! I really love the plastic range. My only complaint is the “faces” I don’t like the bar up the centre. I find it frustrating painting it.

@Firedrake Cordova, I got it off Etsy! I had to trim the legs off as it was a little too tall but it was easy enough to do.

Glad to hear it @Brother Christopher! And thank you!

Next up I’m working on some Deathriders followed by an Artillery Team!

Ah you've fallen for tiny legends too I see.

Looks excellent. If you ever move 'Leontus' or eg charge him, it's kind of funny picturing them all picking up the holo table and scuttling around with it.

Big time! I love their stuff. Gives the plastic kits the look of the old Forgeworld sculpts that got me hooked on Krieg!

Haha! Yeah, I did wonder if anyone would ask about the war room’s mobility! Maybe it floats? It is the 41st millennium after all!
