Gree
Hello. I have recently been thinking of using some brush-on paint primer. Namely, I’ve acquired Pro-Acryl brush-on primer. I have a few questions before I start using it. Would there be any safety hazards when using this sort of brush-on primer? Would you need a respirator mask for this sort of brush-on primer? Or would that not be required for this sort of paint product? I have done some research on the internet, but I haven’t found a clear answer to that question. I don’t think so, but I want to double check for health reasons before I do anything. The Pro Acryl brush-on primer should be a water-based acrylic. I would appreciate any insight from hobbyists who have used this sort of brush-on primer. Solution Grotsmasha Posted August 22 Solution Share Posted August 22 If it's just from their regular paint line, then no further steps required vs. what you do for regular hand painting. Gree
Thank you for the reply. The brush-on primer that I purchased is this Black Primer. It is included as part of the Primer paint line. I don't think it is part of their regular paint line, or am I misunderstanding your meaning? Grotsmasha
I just meant they do Hobby Paints, not automotive or whatever, that's all I just read a bit about it and shake the ever loving crap out of it first and expect to still do multiple coats. I remember trying GWs brush on primer a while back and it felt basically like a wash, super thin, barely covered, but I left it at two coats, just enough to make sure it was everywhere and never had a problem with it. Cleon
One thing I would say is don't use your best brush for priming, one a size or two up of what you usually paint with that has already seen some use would be fine.
