Direct PDF link.

Looks like there's some new Provenances in there at a glance for things like GSC and Enforcers too, as well as more of the GSC and Necromunda vehicles.

Good/interesting to see that so much of the old list is still there. At a glance, the detachments look interesting, but maybe strangely balanced? An 8 troop slot Infantry Cohort as an Apex? Hmm.

I was quietly hoping that some of the weirder OOP Forge World units would have made the cut. But that is purely selfish, as I've got a old kits kicking around I want to use.

I really love the combinations offered by the Provenances, and the potential for new ones.

This might also be a hot take, but one consistently positive thing over 2.0 is the inclusion of more lore snippets. I feel like 2.0 and even late 1.0 started to forget that alot of us are definitely interested to know what something is other than a model with a stat.

Now, does anyone know how well the Felgor Beastment kit goes with Van Saar stuff?

Always a pleasant surprise to see things get expanded. I think of all the HH armies, Militia probably benefit from the changes to army construction the most given their quantity over quality approach. Have a box of Napoleonics I've been converting into cyber line infantry over the years that I always eye up for these sort of lists and one of the big things that put me off was the limitations on units. Now a smattering of 5-man Heavy Support teams shouldn't be too much of a pain to convert up and remain useable in decent numbers which is very nice.

If I manage to get my Dark Angels and Scars painted up to 3000 points before the next edition drops, I might just finish this up to have a nice Feudal Forgeworld list alongside my Knights and Mechanicum I've picked up or printed over the years. Could be a real fun list to play.

I built the Felgor, and it seems like a bit of a difficult kit to kitbash with, especially with Van Saar who look like a more old style kit. The heads are mounted into a trench in the torso, and most of the bodies have fairly dynamic poses. You could possibly build the bodies the. cut the torsos off the legs to put on Van Saar torsos, but it just depends on the size of the Van Saar

I'd love to see you try it!

This while I am happy for those who have these armies they have lovingly converted kind of answers a big question I've had.

For a good while I was wondering why the rules were a blend of traditional 30k, necromunda, and 2nd/10th edition....

I think I have my answer here. You have official rules for big games of necromunda without getting as bogged down and now you have the support for the models.

Probably wrong take, but it's going to take me a minute to think past this.

I mean you're half-right. The Militia army has always been a kitbash army. The HH2 version leaned further into this from a "use your other stuff FROM OUR GAMES" angle. It's soft side integration of GW's other ranges into HH without breaking the lore too much. That's why you're seeing Necromunda stuff, but also GSC, AM, AdMech and Votann stuff too. Biggest surprise really is there's not more really.

I'm a big fan. Reminds me of the Old School 40K stuff you'd get in White Dwarf, like rules for a Space Marine riding a Carnosaur.

I find it so strange to see options taken from the Libers and then the Custodes and Sisters (gutted in the case of the latter) only for the militia to have more than they did in 2.0. It's great, don't get me wrong but all the more curious. Did they add more to the army list because of the negative feedback with loadouts cutback even with the legacies pdf? Part of me hopes that this will open the gateway for options removed from units to come back (such as consuls only being mostly able to have selected pistols), I guess time will tell...

GW doesn't move that fast. This was always the plan.

I think the adding of more units to this list is perfectly in line with GW‘S view for Militia as a faction. They aren’t going to produce any kits, but if they can sell some extra boxes from Necromunda, then they aren’t going to complain! It’s a fairly solid continuation from the 2.0 list.

So IMO, we can’t read that much into it about wider stuff. Ultimately it’s a faction they won’t be supporting with miniatures. Although it is good to see that they’ve put some proper thought into the list.
