Good. I have no interest in these and could do with a FOMO break at the moment.

*Sees Warhammer Quest announcement*

Oh for :cuss:s sake.

Same here frater. I LOVE BSF, and I'm glad the series is continuing. Hopefully we see a return to 40k in the future

I *MAY* pick up the T'au one as I don't have any of those kits at the moment although I would have personally included a standard Commander, probably dropped the Riptide for another Crisis Team (allowing a new player to field Codex legal teams) and included a Stealth Team to keep the Suit theme. I guess they don't want too many duplicates in the boxes though.

I'm more of a Shadowsun person than Farsight but I've been told that in newer lore they have fought alongside each other (Can't have Ethereals though).

Ive a small tau force in a box id love to add to and will aim to buy this, knowing it's at best a shoddy deal, because it is still *a* deal.

EC box is just: "here´s fulgrim and some marines, have fun"

Votann: "here´s some new stuff, try it out"

Tyranids: "Oh we´re flooded with these kits, take ´em"

tau: "oh you like mechs? Here´s box of them."

marines: "we have veterans, but they need more weapons...  EH, throw those plasmas in there, no one cares"

chaos: "we still have old rhinos and discordants in warehouse. Slap them with everything else in back there"

Krieg:  "remember that limited FOMO box? Yeah, we neither.... Anyways, buy some Krieg!"

As a Votann player, I look at this and just wish there were steeljacks in there instead of the kapricus, and wonder why a BROKHYR ironmaster is leading what is supposed to be a CTHONIAN force? Maybe if they had actually given cthonians a leader...

Ironically, as I see most people every year thinking "I guess I'm (not) buying MYSELF an Xmas box this year", I'm actually thinking maybe I'll get the Tau one for my cousin who doesn't have any of the kits for his army.

Maybe...

As someone with 3x boxes of Cthonian Earthshakers, 10x Berserkers, 1 Ironmaster, 6 Thunderkyn, but 0 Kapricus... I'm going to end up with two of these boxes. I just love my short angry guys so much, and the mortars are my favorite looking unit in the game.
Plus, I was planning to run delve shift with 60 berserkers one of these days, this gets me a little closer.

If you can pick it up from a third party retailer certainly!

I've got the old Combat Patrol with the Ghostkeel, an extra Stealth Team (turns out my box idea wouldn't work, they've pulled the Stealths, presumably for the new ones coming out via Kill Team), at least another Strike Team kicking around and possibly a Pathfinder team (I've not actually hobbied in a while and I'm unsure if I like the current ruleset, still love the models though).

I think it's supposed to harken to Farsight's 7 Samurai knock off, The 8.  Of course, you might then say "But DemonG, there's only 6 guys in this box!"

Well, yeah.  GW is GW.  How else will they get you to buy two more boxes?

There are some really nice ones but I’ve already got everything in the ones I’d be interested in except the Krieg one.  But I’ve spent so many years painting guard I don’t see me putting time into it for years to come.

The only one that seems like an eye roller is the Tyranid one.  Seems like they’re trying to clear out Leviathan sprues.

No clue if the space dwarf one is good or not.  Looks cool.

{insert cliche Tau insult}

Krieger box looks pretty good, especially as a starter kit. Decent amount of troops, hq and support, that also fits the krieg theme, which is generally either besieging strongholds or defending entrenched positions, so more need for fixed heavy artillery than tanks. If I have the moneys it will definitely earn a spot in my ever expanding backlog.

For the others, the both the sm and csm boxes look pretty good.

A good mix of kits in the sm one,  many if which you don’t need multiples of, but also aren’t usually bundled at additional discount. It actually feels aimed at both newcomers and veterans who haven’t hopped on the primaris bandwagon yet (like me!) but not an exciting box for people who have a big primaris collection already.

As someone with a fallow narrow collection these are pretty appealing to me, minus the SM one as I’m very much team Contemptor over the 40k variety.

I’m tempted by the Tau one quite a lot for a simple build and paint project  and by the Krieg for a similar reason. I like the idea of the Tyranid one but I really need to work on my scheme because the last ones I painted looked like I held the brush between my teeth…

Yeah very tempted by the Votann one- I don't yet have a kapricus or the earthshakers and more thunderkyn and beserks would be very nice.

The Nid one- I could do with an exocrine and a t-fex, probably a second Malceptor .. a third screamer killer and Neurotyrant is pushing it a little but not beyond possibilities ..

I really want to want the Krieg one.

I do like the models and it seems like an ok box but I'm not sure if i can bring myself to start a guard army any more. It would financially ruin me and I dont know that I have enough space to store it if I did!

Honestly? As someone who owns nothing from Astra Militarum, I am considering the Krieg box. I was very tempted by the Krieg box that came out earlier this year. With this battleforce, and the earlier boxset that is still being sold by some retailers, I am considering getting both and kickstarting a Krieg army. The issue I have is that while I love the Krieg, as well as also liking the Attilan Rough Riders and the Tempestus, I really do not care about the Cadian side of the faction, and a lot of the tanks. So trying to figure if it's wise to get into an army when I only really care about less than half of it. Not a tournament player, happy to be on the fluffy side, but still. Will need to think on it.

T'au boxset is at least better than last years. I'm surprised they haven't made a Kroot boxset.

Value is always a big question until we know prices. My recollection from previous years is that they normally represent a saving of about 33%.

I find it funny, if the savings are still at 33%ish but rhe prices have gone up, they're actually better value than before as the same % discount will yield a bigger numerical saving.

If value is measured by the fact one of these big expensive boxes isn't a massive set of minis, nor much of an army, the answer there is to play smaller games and for gw to be encouraged to stop lowering points, or even better, raise them.

Historically the sigmar boxes are cheaper and have more points of stuff in.
