Folks,

What Primaris figures should I add once I finish my assault squad for my UM Third company.   I already did 6 tactical squads, 2 devastor squads and building to Assault squads.    Command squad is done  except for minor touchup.

Thanks

I'm assuming you have no Primaris based on that list so - Captain, Chaplain, Two Lieutenants, Librarian, Librarian in Phobos, Calgar, Bobby G - then Aggressors.  Infiltrators.  Assault Intercessors, Intercessors, Heavy Intercessors, then 1st Company Temporary Detachment loaners like Terminators, Sternguard, and Bladeguard - THEN whatever is top dog in next edition's Meta until you have some of everything.

I'm going to assume you have your own HQ choices in mind..... so looking at baseline Primaris units, I would go in this order:

1 squad of 5 Intercessors.

1 squad of 5 Heavy Intercessors

Then into specialization.... IE: Hellblasters/Eradicators, etc.

Brothers thanks for info.   I already built my command squad for the Third UM company.   I have to add the two Lts. to command squad and then  I will go with the intercessors after finishing my second assault squad.

Just checking, but you sound like you're "behind the times"  Assault Squads are now LEGENDS and the "normal" jump pack squad is called Assault Intercessors With Jump Packs.  There's also some suspicions Tacticals and Devastators are/were also going to go to LEGENDS.  I suspect they were but they no longer are.  Maybe Tacs still go, but I think Devs get Primarisized and everyone pretends they never were.  There are a couple favorite reasons for this - people werent' buying enough new SM Kids so it was a way to generate sales, and they were increasing the size which is the portmanteau between Primaris and McDonalds Supersize into Primarisize.  The recent treatment of Terminators though has most people thinking most if not all of the squatting "first born" is over and they're just going to be updated with new kits.

Tacitus,

Thanks for your comments.     I know I am outdated.  VBG.     I just like to build and paint for me.  I no longer play as my sons are grown up (40 years old and 35 years old).   I am over 70 years old.    I probably have not played a game in 18 years.   I collect.    Today I checked another closet and found I never built the figures from Dark Imperium and The Indomitus Crusade.    Recently I have been selling off some items on Feebay.   LOL.   I just bought an Infernus squad and a squad of Heavy Intercessors.    Like I said I like to build.   Decades ago I wanted to build the complete UM Chapter but other things came up in our life.    Now that I am semi retired I decided to finish the Third company I started maybe 10 years ago.    I need tpo make space on my desk for other projects.  VBG.    Eventually I will add the primaris UM to my collection as I now know I have a lot of them to build.

have fun and thanks everyone for your responses.

Brothers I have not posted in many months as I had two surgeries and other medical issues.    This week I decided to go through all of my boxes in different closets and found I have enough first born figures to do six full tactical squads and 2 devastor squads.   I do not have more than 2 or 3 Assault marines.    I do not want to do a full tactical company.   What reserve company should I do and the color of their trims.

Thanks again for looking in.

I’m an advocate for picking what ever colour you like best. Being too lore-accurate limits collecting/hobby potential :)

the reserves are 6th-9th: orange (copper?), purple, grey, blue

reserves typically repaint their trim when seconded, see ‘tactical flexibility’ at bottom left in image.

cant go wrong with second company’s glorious gold!
