Dizzy-Fudge8129
CHAPTER CULTURE: The Forge Sentinels claim to be a Salamanders successor, founded during the 25th founding. though all records of their founding are lost. the chapter is fleet based, never having had a homeworld. they recruit from any world they come across. The chapter worships archeotech, viewing it as the purest form of the Omnissiah’s will. Dreadnoughts, in particular, are revered as divine vessels, a sacred fusion of warrior and machine, granting ascension through mechanical eternity and power. They claim Their mission to reclaim lost tech and knowledge was mandated by the High Lords themselves, to bypass the bureaucracy and greed of the Mechanicum. but there is no proof of this claim. APPEARANCE: The standard sentinel armour colours are: dark gray legs and chestplate. lavender shoulders, arms, helm, and powerpack. a golden trim. and dark green lenses is their helmets. the Veterans are marked by the same colours as the standard battle-brother but trade the lavender for a dark red. they wear their company number on their right shoulder, and chapter symbol on their left shoulder. with no denotion of squad type or squad number. sergeants and lieutenants are denoted by a dark red galea placed on their helmet upon receiving their promotion. PREFERRED TACTICS: the chapter exclusively makes use of old heresy-era armour, and dreadnought chassis. the chapter has an exceptionally large amount of breacher shields and dreadnoughts Their melee arsenal includes almost exclusively power weapons. the sentinels viewing themselves to high for standard chain-weapons. this causes the chapter to have a smaller amount of melee troops. They specialize in swift, overwhelming assaults and boarding actions. using vox interference and elite sniper units for support, scouting and destabilization. CHAPTER HISTORY: 478.M41. The chapter is founded during the 25th Founding. The first Forge Master is appointed, and The Apokálypsis Omnissiah is written by the first Forge Master. 497.M41. The 1st archeotech Pilgrimage is declared. The first Pilgrimage’s objective was to scavenge the Beta-Garmon cluster, also known as ‘’titan death’’ for its ancient ship parts, helping repair and enhance the Casket Forge. as well as gaining the Sentinels a large amount of Breacher shields, influencing their doctrine to this day. 504.M41. The Casket Forge is discovered, and restoration begins. 506.M41. Varnak passes the Aspirant trials. 546.M41. The Beta-Garmon Massacre. While the Sentinel were scavenging the Beta-Garmon cluster, a presumed Night Lords succesor took interest to them. and on one fateful night they struck, and with the companies divided over the sector, the warband massacred four entire companies. leaving only mountains of mutilated corpses behind before vanishing into the void. after this, the Forge Master decided to strengthen the remaining six companies, instead of trying to rebuild the four that were lost. 557.M41. The 1st Pilgrimage ends. 592.M41. The 2nd Pilgrimage is declared. The second Pilgrimages objective was to reach and plunder the Mythical Istvaan system. being hindered by local chaos warbands. the chapter remained steadfast, retrieving a high amount of heresy-era weapons and armour. 638.M41. The 2nd Pilgrimage ends, the first Forge Master resigns, and the second Forge Master is appointed. 644.M41. The former, first Forge Master, following years of descent into isolation and madness, takes his own life. 645.M41. The Libraricus heresy. The Libraricus heresy took place shortly after the end of the 1st pilgrimage, where a large portion of the Chapter’s Librarians were corrupted by chaos, and the rest were killed. the heretics were exterminated, taking their cost in blood. following this, the Libraricus was abolished. 651.M41. The Casket Forge’s restoration finishes. 657.M41. The 3rd Pilgrimage is declared. Most of the third Pilgrimage has been mostly redacted. but it is known that its objective was to reach the T’au Empire, to collect and archive their technology. making a stop to scavenge the hallowed halls of Calth on the way. 789.M41. [REDACTED] 901.M41. [REDACTED] 976.M41. The 3rd Pilgrimage ends. 996.M41. The Chapter Schism. Varnak is appointed the third Forge Master, and starts the Reforging. The Chapter Schism took place shortly after the 3rd pilgrimage. where, after a ‘disappointing’ end to the 3rd pilgrimage, a large portion of the chapter started losing faith in the Apokálypsis Omnissiah and wanted to go traitor. this resulted in a bloody civil war within the chapter. although the traitors outnumbered the loyalists, after Varnak slew the traitor Forge Master, the traitor movement was crippled and were swiftly exterminated. this left the chapter almost entirely destroyed. with barely a company of marines remaining. 034.M42. The reforging ends, and the chapter is at decent strength again. and a joint operation begins with the [TBT] against a small force of hive fleet Jormungadr. The reforging took place directly after the Chapter Schism. where the remaining members underwent the Rubicon Primaris. And now Forge Master Varnak rebuilt the chapter. the instatement of the Ordo Novitaé was one of his biggest changes. 039.M42. Evander Valerius is discovered, and earns the title of Chapter Champion. TITLES, RANKS AND UNITS: Forge Master The Forge Sentinels Chapter Master equivalent. they are chosen not only on tactical acumen and martial prowess but also on forging skill. Helms Master The Helms Master is the admiral and helmsman of the Casket Forge, they oversee the day to day operations aboard the void-ship, and commands all fleet engagements. this position has historically only been held by mortals. Arch-Reliquary The Arch-Reliquary serves as the chapters Quartermaster. If a battle-brother or even Captain wants a piece of wargear or tech, they have to put in a request, which the Arch-Reliquary is free to deny. He also manages, catalogues and upkeeps all of the chapter's many relics and vaults. Illuminatus Novitaé the Illuminatus Novitaé chooses the chapter aspirants and teaches them the chapter’s history and ideology. He also chooses new Praeceptors, and manages the distribution of Neophytes among the companies. Praeceptor Novitaé the Praeceptors Novitaé take on a more personal hand in the training of Neophytes. When a battle-brother is trained by one of the five Praeceptors, they take on the last name of the Praeceptor. These names include: Char, Sevradon, Vorn, Soltren, and Galatos. Forge Keeper the Forge Sentinels Techmarine equivalent. They are not trained by the fools of Mars, but by another Forge Keeper, or even the Forge Master himself. They can requisition technology from the Arch-Reliquary. If approved, they are free to modify, upgrade, and customize the tech as much as they desire. This results in them having very unique gear and weapons. Iron Praetor the Iron Praetor is a prestigious Honour Guard position, their combat prowess only rivaled by the Company or Chapter Champions. They serve as elite bodyguards for the most high ranked astertes in the chapter. Vox Venators Vox Venators are an elite, covert-ops and recon unit. They are regularly sent beyond enemy lines to assassinate warlords or scout positions. They operate in squads of three and can sometimes requisition Grav-Bikes. Once a Marine becomes a Vox Venator, he forgoes his name, and take on a callsign. Forge Auxilia, and Auxiliarchs The Forge Auxilia, are (officially) a mortal police force under command of the Forge Sentinels. Most of their forces are deployed to keep order in the lower decks of the Casket Forge, but a part of their forces are dedicated to Crew and Support Astartes vehicles. The Sentinels view them as corrupt, egotistical bureaucrats unworthy of the archeotech they hoard. Astra Militarum: Cooperative, especially with siege-focused regiments like the Death Korps of Krieg, Tallarn Desert Raiders, and Athonian Tunnel Rats. Leagues of Votann: Viewed as human enough to avoid classification as xenos. They maintain an active trade relationship, materials and tech in exchange for intel on Mechanicus fleet movements, and planetary records. Astra Telepathica: They are respected, and are very well accommodated. but becouse of distrust they face due to their psychic nature, they are not allowed outside of their own sealed sanctum, and no crew are allowed inside this sanctum. CHARACTERS: FORGE MASTER: Varnak. Varnak is mysterious, he always wears his relic Cataphractii Terminator Armour. his face and exact age are unknown, though it is rumoured he was present at the Beta-Garmon Massacre. when not leading the chapter, he spends most of his time crafting relics or training new Forge Keepers. 1ST CAPTAIN: Magnis Fox. Entombed within a contemptor dreadnought chassis, The Captain of the first company is one of the most decorated heroes of the chapter schism. he refuses interment slumber, relentlessly stalking the halls of the Casket Forge, in search of possible traitors. at this point his position is more ceremonial than practical. 4TH CAPTAIN: ‘’Vagabond’’. a former Vox Venator, and a deathwatch veteran of 24 years. he returned to the chapter shortly after the scism, and quickly attained the rank of captain due to his extensive expertise with xenos threats. he doesnt talk much, the already secretive demeanour of the Vox-vneators being enhanced by his time serving the watch. he wields an odd blade carved from a Licors talon, which he refuses to name, as its of xenos origin and thus not deserving of a name. 5TH CAPTAIN: Malrik Soltren. A former Forge Keeper, he is one of the best Creators the chapter has seen. though his mind might seem disjointed, or random. this is his blessing from the omnissiah, to see or notice things no other sees. his choice of weaponry mirrors the raging storm of his mind, weilding dual sonic pistols. CHAPTER CHAMPION: Evander Valerius. clad in mkii and wielding the sword '’The Song of Radiance'’ he is the finest warrior of the Forge Sentinel. A pre-heresy Luna Wolf discovered in stasis, on a great crusade era wreck, near the ghoul stars. he pledged himself to the Sentinels in an attempt to seek penance for his gene-sire’s actions. he regularly spars with new recruits, and tells them stories from the great crusade. CHIEF APOTHICARY: Drex Hetane. A slightly crazed, eccentric battle-brother, he is loved by Malrik Soltren for his entertaining tirades. He is in charge of interring fallen battle-brothers into dreadnoughts, though he is sometimes a little too eager to grant people the holy gift of being entombed, as he feels great pity for the fragile beings of flesh they were before. CHAPTER RELICS: The Hammer of Origin: the Hammer of Origin is a massive Thunderhammer, and the first relic forged by the first Forge Master. it has internal arc-coils, causing its surface to crackle with bolts of electricity. this relic is currently not in use. The Song of Radiance: The Song of Radiance is a hybrid between a transonic blade and power sword, resulting in unparalleled armor penetration. it has an elegant golden hilt, and an obsidian-black blade that sings with a low hum. the last and most beautiful work cast by the first Forge Master, on the final eve of the 2nd Pilgrimage the blade is only granted to the Chapter Champion. this relic is currently wielded by Evander Valerius. The Helm of Hollow Thought: The Helm of Hollow Thought, is a mkVI helmet, formerly worn by the chief librarian, pre-libraricus heresy. this helmet gives the wearer a greatly slowed perception of time, this gives an almost addicting effect. the helm whispers to the wearer, slowly driving them insane after prolonged use. this relic is currently not in use. The Casket Forge: The Casket Forge is a heavily modified, Apocalypse class battleship, serving as the sole fortress, foundry, and home of the Forge Sentinels. Once discovered as a drifting wreck in the Segmentum Obscurus, its hull bore the scars of millennia of battle. Restored over more than a century, it now bristles with Lance battery broadsides, missile tubes, and boarding pod lauchers. while its rear flanks house two immense half circular, star fortress style rings. at its heart is a massive, central, forge temple. it also contains a collossal library. several huge hangar bays, with extensive mechanized thunderhawk gantries. the ship also holds a grand feast hall, with the Forge Masters throne at the head. all of its various levels and compartments connected by sprawling railways and transit tunnels. Though smaller than the grand star fortresses of legend, the Casket Forge is entirely self sufficient, capable of producing its own arms and armor. and serves as the Fortress Monastery of the Forge Sentinel.
