New necron guy looks really cool.

The human support guys for Titus are great, it's good to see something new that's still heavily grounded in existing lore.

I wonder what happened to Acheran then? Fell in battle or lost in warp? I guess the book will explain it.

Community post more or less implies that the new necron guy got him, unless we're due a new Dreadnought in one of the later books.

He went down on an away mission with the only 2 men he could spare and got himself killed?

The miniature is her. The portrait is her social media avatar from her peak days in high school.

0% interested in Ultramarines  but that campaign boxed set is exaaaaaactly the direction I want to see them take the game. It feels like a good answer to "What does Indomitus Imperial Armor look like?"

I jumped in with boarding actions last edition and it basically didn't work out for me (got the terrain and the books and then couldn't get patrols for my factions or the terrain upgrades for anything like a reasonable price) but I'm very tempted by that necron lineup. If that's playable as a boarding patrol I think I'm in there.

I do welcome new narrative driven campaign expansions, and this looks a lavish set; but, 7 months away from the inevitable release of 11th edition, that's the problem. Is it worth paying something like £40 (I doubt it'll be cheaper, seeing as most books now are around £35, and this is four books in a box) - if not more - for something that'll likely be unusable after 6 months?  I know GW will say 'you can still read the lore parts', but that's only one of the four books in the set

dropping this here ( from Boole; darkwater, ultramarine and nurgle rumor source that today came true )

( its all framed as fantasy things.. but its obviously 40k rumors.)

I think 500 worlds is just this bookset. And at least 3 other booksets coming (Armageddon with Yarrick ? but yarrick isnt prophesized to return afaik, Eye of Terror with Perturabo/iron warriors or maybe just darkmech, Maelstrom with Prince Yriel, but probably Huron is the enemy there.)

Last part seems to be about skaven.. but, Venom, shurikens (weapons) and shades ( Yvraine is called the daughter of shades ) do combine in one 40k thing; Ynnari

So its probably skaven  (maybe drukhari and boole doesnt know that they do not use shuriken weapons, its more likely.)

11th edition will very likely not be a reset edition.

I have growing theories though that 11th edition wont be 2026 but TOW 2.0 is ( with 11th being 2027 ) and honestly.. the preview kind of adds to it from multiple points. I will elaborate on them sometime, just theories though, not something I would bet on.

But even without it, the first statement stands. 10th -> 11th is likely like 8th -> 9th.

TOW only launched at the start of last year - so would they really update it 2 1/2 years in?

The new edition cycle for games is tied into GW's end of financial year - I'd have thought they'll want a guaranteed big income boost, which 40k will doubtless provide more if than TOW.

It would be great if 10th was given a bit longer to breathe - especially with neat supplements like this coming - but based on the rumours we have, and the established release cycle since 2017, I think 11th is inevitable this coming summer.

I agree to a point, but I also think this kind of campaign is a great snapshot to take of the game system before it mutates into whatever comes next. For as much as the game lives its real life out in the tournament space It's also super worthwhile to ship something like this out where it can be the home edition that lives forever. It'd be great to get a fourth year of campaigns at the end of each edition. Not a dissimilar draw to Darkwater.

So presumably the other books/boxes would be;

Armageddon: Yarrick with a yarrick mini (+Retinue maybe?), an Ork mini, and a battalion box for Orks.

Eye of Terror: Perturabo, with mini and maybe some form of antagonist in either IF or maybe establishing another antagonist for old Pete.

Maelstrom: Blackheart with Huron (+Retinue?) vs Yriel amd Battalion: Corsairs.

That leaves Eldar/Ynnari, mabe as antagonists to Perturabo with his Iron Warriors as a way to close out the "Campaign" and get Ynnari to do literally anything?

Wow that's pretty historic, first time we've ever seen the Ultramar Auxilia, it's crazy it took all these years. If they released Ultramar Auxilia and Tyrannic Vets they could ironically release Ultramarines as a non-codex compliant chapter codex. Please GW watching the Blood Angels players going full Chernobyl would be funny.
