The article on the website does initially look like there are new shirts as well but it just links to general UM theme merch.

They're up on the store now!

Personally, I absolutely love it when GW do skits, even if quality ones are few and far between. I enjoyed their Horus Hear'say stunt earlier this year for instance. Now that I think about it, I can't remember what this years April's Fools was

Hopefully it means there are more ultramarines :jawdrop:

I love the skit, and the salt on some social media channels is hilarious. The salt god doesnt care from where the salt flows

I guess I just don't get the Utramarines fascination by GW.  There's about 5x Blood Angels or Space Wolves collectors to every 1 Utramarines one anywhere I've ever been in the US and you see what the BA's got.  BAs, SWs, DAs, BTs, and even GKs seem more popular.  Maybe it's different other places.  They look really good, though so no hate from me.

The salt is justified.

Ultramarines already got an absolute ton of stuff.

They do not need even more.

It is always curious how it just seems to be 'Ultramarines' that get this salt from a certain portion of the playerbase. Never BT, DA, SW or BAs in such number who get as much, and in some cases more.

Seems likes double standards to me most of the time, driven more by memes (from a time quite a few weren't even in the hobby for).

It's funny enough, but the truth is I feel the need to protest for FEWER Ultramarines, and less emphasis on Space Marines in general. I feel like I'm being trolled.

My favourite parts of the hobby are continually marginalized, and I feel like they're at risk of disappearing altogether. If 11th doesn't finally solve the Drukhari problem, I'm probably faced with another retreat from the hobby. The treatment of GSC and Sisters from 2nd-5th is what made me drop out for 6th and 7th, and finally correcting those mistakes is what brought me back for 8th and managed to keep me for 9th and 10th.

And don't get me wrong, 10th's Drukhari DEX isn't bad- it's the treatment of the RANGE that's driving me mad.

So yes, the video is "funny," but it also feels like tone-deaf trolling and mockery of those who DO have genuine, legitimate fears that everything they care about truly IS being ignored, and that in turn feels like an indicator that a) ignoring us is intentional and b) it will continue or even accelerate.

It's because the "Ultramarines" releases are treated as Generic LSM released by GW, so if you're a SM player who doesn't run a divergent chapter you're sod out of luck because your release is an Ultramarines specific character.

I'm not one of those people, but I think it could be because the Ultramarines thing seems forced.  When you see BTs, DAs, SWs, and BAs players everywhere you kind of get it.  I see more Eldar, Tyranids, Orks, Tau, CSMs, ect than I do Ultras.  Like I said above, maybe it's different where I've been and they're more popular other places around the globe.

Anecdotal but I see a lot of kids playing with their own Ultramarines when Im in a GW/FLGS at the weekend

Could also be some tri level chess from GW, the more they release marines/ultras, the more the xenos players want some love, so when they get any GW attention they buy even more :)

Maybe it'd help the non LSM factions buy more if their regular morsels weren't nearly always single characters that are either unique or not something you'd want more than one of on the tabletop anyway.

Meh, as an Ultramarines fan, every time I see new models for the faction since 8th edition I get sad because it's just Primaris and that twists the knife ever deeper.

Besides, cringe and I'm not even going to watch!

Cassius, Telion, Leandros, Tyrannic War Vets, Ultramar Auxilia, Brother Timmy Macragge, the bloke who sits in tanks. We're getting it all and a codex, let's go Titus, Guilliman 2026.
