I'm not one of those people, but I think it could be because the Ultramarines thing seems forced.  When you see BTs, DAs, SWs, and BAs players everywhere you kind of get it.  I see more Eldar, Tyranids, Orks, Tau, CSMs, ect than I do Ultras.  Like I said above, maybe it's different where I've been and they're more popular other places around the globe.

They were (in an older time) referred to as the snowflake chapters because they got extra special treatment, marine fans love marines. More unique bespoke stuff for the niches sort of works because it's  more marine options overall.

Because ultramarines are the generic poster boys and not really considered a unique entity, their releases are sort of a "meh bland marines again I guess" type response.

Tl;dr divergent releases go down well because they make people feel special and its not more of "those blue guys who get all the press".

Glorious, peak British satire.

I can see how this might annoy some people, but we are the country that gave the world Yes, Minister; Blackadder and The Thick Of It.

More of this please.

It is always curious how it just seems to be 'Ultramarines' that get this salt from a certain portion of the playerbase. Never BT, DA, SW or BAs in such number who get as much, and in some cases more.

Seems likes double standards to me most of the time, driven more by memes (from a time quite a few weren't even in the hobby for).

There are lots of people who act personally offended whenever one of the original Angels of Death chapters gets something, or Space Wolves, or Black Templars. Usually fans of Salamanders, Raven Guard, or another "not Ultramarines" chapter. I have seen the term "snowflake chapters" used as a pejorative many times.

It is like some people think that Space Marine chapters are real people who are personally insulting them by receiving new miniatures.

Best just to ignore it, because in the end who really cares if someone else likes or dislikes any given Space Marine chapter?

They should make the first two advent reveals/rules/whatever Ultramarine focused just to get everyone frothing and then switch to other subjects.

One Ultramarines Rules thing.

One Stormcast Eternals Rules thing.

Everyone else gets a painting guide and a pat on the back.

Honestly if they took the ultima off I would wear the “more Primaris lieutenants now” t-shirt around my local GW just to troll the manager while I don’t buy anything. The merch is real, right? Or is it part of the joke? It’s funnier if it’s real.

It's because the "Ultramarines" releases are treated as Generic LSM released by GW, so if you're a SM player who doesn't run a divergent chapter you're sod out of luck because your release is an Ultramarines specific character.

Okay, and that applies when the other Special Snowflake chapters get something.

So I wonder if that date they talk about at the beginning (when I say talk, I mean scrolls past on the ticker) is a hint, other than a joke about March being March for Macragge, keep missing whaf the actual number it says is.

Its 4 as in March 4 Macragge, its a Wednesday so likely that's all there is to it.

The word bearers part might be a tease, as there is no sense to talk about that line being followed up upon in the context of the gimmick.

I'm perfectly fine with Ultramarines stuff if we get some Red Corsairs :)

The range so far does look good to be more serious, so they may as well get the full lineup out. It's better to keep most of that stuff similar in age. Some Word Bearers to go with them would be mighty good though...

Y'know it's actually really funny that people act like this, at least toward Ultramarines. Like, I'm a total Salamanders fanboy and I'd actually prefer the Salamanders don't get more stuff. We got a new Forgefather, we got Adrax, we doin' good. If Vulkan came back, yes it would be awesome, but then Salamanders would be straight up mainstream. It's kind of nice having just a bit of attention, just enough to stay unique, but not so much you're feeling like your on the bandwagon y'know?

More Ultramarines!

Honestly.. a more optimistic view than I have of what they will do ( like I said.. I expect it to be just a regular week with a giftwrap around the usual articles ... darkwater nurgle painting tutorial like they usually do ? Grotmas day 5, Story for Titus like all previous captain releases already got ? Grotmas day 1, Grotmas day 2 will have something exiting... its a rumor engine ! on a tuesday no less. Grotmas day 3 is a free episode of a warhammer+ program... happy grotmas! )

( only one I dont want from your list is day 24 :p the current one is perfect as is.)

I must say they throw a lot of energy at 500 worlds.. the full animated intro, the presentation of a sleeve with 4 books, even this ad. Im really curious if the marketing behind it reflects the impact it will have.
