Meh. Its the first army many people get whwn starting the hobby, and no other faction is even remotely close to space marine popularity, and ultramarines are the most popular space marines by a good bit. It makes financial sense, and it releases models lots of folks want.

I hope the moulds for whatever Ultramarine Bull:cuss: this is building up to irreparably breaks.

I love how when GW releases a joke video that plays on the fact that, yes, there's more focus on Ultramarines than other Chapters, and - yes - it annoys the overwhelming majority of 40k collectors/players/fans, there are people on here who seem to have missed this joke :whistling::sweat: so then proceed to... complain about the attention Ultramarines get from GW

Never change, Fraters of the B&C, never change

They’ve done a good job this year, leaning into the Horus Hearsay thing and now this. Even the trailer for the WC stream was funny with the “this is leaking”, “there’s always leaks” line.

I know non-SM players and non-UM players are grinding their teeth at anything else UM, but quite frankly we deserve a bit of love to offset the eye roll or immediate disappointment  you receive when someone asks who you collect and you say Ultramarines.

Its cause there is no joke. There is mockery. And people rarely like being mocked.

Because and this is key, this would have been hilarious from ANYONE other then the power responsible for it happening, making it.  Because what is the joke? That people are annoyed? That the cause was know and dismissed? That it wil keep being done? Heres some more of the thing we are mocking you for disliking haha. Might as well have some redshirts throws piles of non ultramarines minis in a furnace and use the molten plastic to MAKE MORE ULTRAS!.

I understand Ultras sell (tho if they sell because they have been EXTREMLY well supported and represented for decades, or if they got that for selling well is a whole other discussion), and they want to make money. I understand that it is easier from a logistical standpoint to clump these releases together. And i understand they are acting in a economicaly rational way. But thats where normally a company would take steps to NOT alianate or irratate its other customers more then the bare minimum needed. This is the opposite.

But i would love for you to explain the joke to me, a non ultramarines player, what am i supose to find amusing about the fact that they took time, resources and effort to CEMENT community complaints? Confirm them, and double down on the reason of complaints?

Personally i made my peace (tho still on occasion salty) with marines and their position in GW food chain along time ago, but now getting to the point where marine players are getting fed up with marine releases is actually pretty funny.

I don't think it's that serious at all, and I think some people might be looking into it more than it needs to be. Ultramarines are the poster boys of Warhammer, and they got a few characters, a unit, and an upgrade box recently to coincide with a new campaign event and other Marine releases. They're on all the vanilla marine boxes, the starter sets, lots of books, the trailers for the game, Space Marine 2, and Secret Level, so they probably have a fair few fans.

I think some people have maybe got themselves a bit angry over a company that makes models releasing models for a popular faction. If the game wants to grow and continue to be successful, they need to sell models. This edition has seen lots of factions get new bits and bobs, which some factions getting some pretty nice range additions and replacements (and I'm sure anyone who got missed will have their day in 11th). Maybe it's internet comments being taken too far or too literally, but some people seem far too angry about some little blue plastic men.

GW have done a funny little video making light of the fact that some people have got a little too angry, and taken it a little too far with some of the wording. That's all it is, there isn't any deeper meaning behind it because it doesn't exist. It's just a fun little video.

It's just a little laugh at ourselves, they're just poking a bit of fun. I don't think the intent is to mock or upset anyone at all.

Dear lord, some of you need to look up "hyperbole" and "self deprecation."

Yes, GW are poking fun at both themselves and their customer base. This is, generally speaking, a very British thing to do. I appreciate that some other parts of the world don't always get British humour, but this is basically how we get by on the drizzly rock.

If you look at GW's current production pipeline and release schedule... it's bonkers. Yes, a large tranche of UM models in a short period of time is a bit vexing, but let's not pretend it's been All Marines All Year - we've had massive waves of Aelderi, Krieg, the Emperor's Children release, Space Wolves, Votann... all of which have been significant releases. Half a dozen KT releases, including new Deathwatch, Necrons, Tyranids, World Eaters (ok, cultists) and T'au. We've got the Wolf Scouts back.

Heresy has received a host of new kits, and AoS has had a boatload of stuff. New Blood Bowl, new LI units including Dark Mechanicum.

But no, the community has decided that having what, 4 Ultramarines kits (Calgar, Victrix, Titus and Sicarius) is utterly disproportionate and unfair. And GW is lightly poking fun at that (and selling some merch at the same time.)

Honestly, well played by them.

I'll be honest, it seems baffling that this needs explaining as well.

There's been more New Ultramarine kits this year than my faction has gotten new kits since it released.

To be fair, there's also been more Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Named Guardsmen/Tau/Votann/Eldar kits than the Thousand Sons have received unfortunately. I'm hoping they bring out more for the Mono-Gods, I've always wondered why we never got more Rubric Marine variants.

Also true of almost every faction they listed there. Dunno why UMs are the problem.

I want more Ultramarines. There, I said it.

In all seriousness though, Ultramarines are the poster boys for the game but we are still missing kits and characters, both in 30K and 40K. I am not denying we have more kits than some factions, but that doesn't change the fact Ultramarines players are yet to have units updated.

It's psychological, it's not the kits. It's all the presented artwork, novels, marketing, games and all the rest where 9/10 times it's Ultramarines. Oddly I'm fine with Ultramarines getting they kits they did, a 2nd Calgar was weird but a SM2 related choice. It's more the 3 months span of the other marine kits first, following the HH marine spam. It's been marines as far as the eye can see for a while.

Y'all used the monkey's paw when wishing for separate codices for the CSM Legions. You could've had the new Lord too!

I play Word Bearers mate, we've had nothing Legion specific in 40k ever. Doesn't stop me from finding the silly video funny.

There has been recent rumours that the long rumoured Total War 40k by Creative Assembly will be 500 Worlds related. We will find out if this is true or not next week with their showcase on the 4th December.

Could be a coincidence as Total War 40k has been rumoured since Warhammer 1, but the timing with this, and Grotmas has got me alittle hopeful. If true I hope it is treated better than Warhammer 3.

I guess I just don't get the Utramarines fascination by GW.  There's about 5x Blood Angels or Space Wolves collectors to every 1 Utramarines one anywhere I've ever been in the US and you see what the BA's got.  BAs, SWs, DAs, BTs, and even GKs seem more popular.  Maybe it's different other places.  They look really good, though so no hate from me.

It´s this in a nutshell:

Space Marine 2.
