The Overlord that's... twice the size of the Thunderhawk, at minimum?

I can't see that happening until the latter has happened, and then some.

I don't think we're getting an Overlord model, but I keep saying that I would love a Marine super heavy.

I'd settle for a plastic Astraeus tank lol

Hmm, surely though with the theme of the tease it has to be UM specific? It would be an odd marketing campaign for a generic SM vehicle imo.

For me this has to be a specific UM reveal either 30k or 40k (leaning 40k) - or it will end with "we've heard you, here are some kick arse non SM reveals for next year" - then fades to black and white text appears "2026 - year of the Xenos".

Fast forward to Dec 2026, Drukhari have one character, no refresh, and GW have released 20 Primaris Lts....

All this is reminding me that I've never seen anything on Gulliman actually meeting the Lion since his return, or even reacting to it. Nor on Dante's role after G-man promotes him.

So for all this 500 Worlds narrative, I hope they actually progress the story around the boss a little.

I know it's a setting and not a rolling story like AoS. But they've left some big threads hanging for years.

(And yes, I'd love to see an Omega hidden in among that crowd - 'you've got your tshirt on upside down mate...')

To my understanding has it not happened jet.

It has appered in all the post-Cicatrix Maledictum BA booksI have read.

The Lion getting a single self-contained story, and then being incognito from all the greater 40k lore has been a massive let down for me, personally.

It has now been 2 years since his return, but he may as well not be in the setting.

I could see GW preferring to keep events of that magnitude to end of edition things (either that or no writer is wanting to have a go at the story of course) plus they seem to jump around a lot when they're setting their lore, with the fact they returned to pariah nexus in order to sort things there (to some extent).

Would love to listen in on the part of the office that deals with the narrative, to see what its like. Current lore quantity feels like there's two-three people working there.

It's just odd to me because Black Library haven't shied away from absolutely Earth stattering plots over the last 7/8 years. Granted, all the big stuff is being handled by Haley and Wraight, but surely one of them can take ownership of the Lion for a novel or two.

Anyways, back to the 500 Worlds... maybe the Lion will show up again in a repeat of "The Unremembered Empire" lol

Bit of a tangent but I think BL has downsized and or is suffering from braindrain

Maybe more on point Gav Thorpe is generally Mr Dark Angels for BL and I dont think he sells well

The new Cawl book "Archmagos" seems to be setting up the fact that that event is comin (Guilliman & Lion), so I think it'll be in a book soonish. Dante has had his role covered a bit in both the Lion book and the Darkness in the blood but absolutely deserves more. (I really want Guy to do a 4th blood angel book as honestly I think he's done the best job with them, I absolutely adored the Dante book)

Lion is stuck in Nihilus and he knows Roboute is alive but not vice-versa as far as we can tell. He knows the state of the Imperium and has probably decided that Nihilus needs his skills as a monster hunter more than he needs a brotherly reunion.

Is lion so much "returned" or rather unveiled for the audience ( us ) but otherwise always been operating in the shadows and, from an in universe perspective, not much has changed since his unveiling ? Because, although I haven't read alot about him yet, it seemed to be more like that to me ( not unlike the daemon primarchs I guess )

Personally, even though I can't explain properly why, it feels unnecessary and forced to me that the two "need to meet" .. it feels stronger to me plotwise if they dont, but yeah its unsupported by reason or argument so kind of a nothing-opinion.

I wish they'd do more pr work like this, maybe make a few skits for preview shows. Imagine if blood bowl season 3 had been heralded by a faux sky sports news report with people dressed like the two blood bowl commentators for example.

They did something similar (lower budget obvs, just voiceovers) for the previous generation of BB.

The videos were are on WH+ so el Kid and I watched them as the idea of BB really appealed to him.

Here's one of them from YT - Linky

Unfortunately, we couldn't get to grips with it!

Just watching Auspex Tactics video and he's making a good arguement that there's hints of possibly of a Word Bearers release?

The guy in the Word Bearers T-Shirt, 'Mark of Calth' being mentioned (WB vs UM), It would be pretty good if this was the case in that they've got us focusing on one thing, but surprising us with something else! It would certainly make more sense that just a straight up 'Moar Ultramarines' joke, but might also just be a hopeful reach.

Is there any indication or evidence that this is the case?

I can believe it, I'm just not sure if this is in fact the reason.

And if so, what has caused this?

On the opposing end of the spectrum though, Valrak has stated there's no whispers of anything word bearers, just Iron Warriors. While obviously not a smoking gun in of itself, the people whispering to valrak have had a good track record so it'd be odd for them to be blindsided

Whatever the point of these "Protest" videos have been, they're not exactly going to be salvaging any love from the community now on either side of the "debate", since judging by how that 1st day of Grotmas went it seems they blew the entire Christmas budget on whatever this was.

Braindrain probably overblown and just Josh Reynolds. Other part though: crime and horror seem abandoned, only 87 titles in stock on the webstore
