Its one that stood out to me as possibly actually hinting something together with this one from the first; "Word Bearers "the worst" says survey. More to Follow" ( but mostly because of the more to follow part being out of context with the rest ) However if one and three have an actual hint, then you'd expect two to have one as well. And while its easy to point at the russ part being a hint.. I will just for fun sake go for the first one... combined with the "every spacemarine is an ultramarine if you paint it blue" and "from now on every release will be an ultramarine release" I come to the following conclusion; 500 worlds related releases will all be in blue plastic ( ps: dont take the above speculation too serious ;) ) ZeroWolf, Domhnall and Gamiel 2 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387177-fans-protest-at-warhammer-world/page/10/#findComment-6144977 Share on other sites
Marshall Bretton
Honestly I think people are taking this way too seriously and over thinking it. This is peak British humour which fair enough doesn't translate well even to other English speaking countries, but ultimately GW is a British company so that's what you're going to get. I don't see this as anything more than a good joke following off the back of the rage we have had from a large number of smurf releases in a short period (and tbh I think all of that stems from a second Calgar model, if he didn't exist then I don't think the rage would be there). This just seems like the marketing team taking advantage, throwing a few skits together (which given what they are would take minimal work to actually achieve, actors are all probably staff, it gets dark in working hours ATM here, and you can generate t-shirts really quickly and cheaply). I would be surprised if this is hinting at anything more than the already confirmed 500 world's release. No. I'm merely pointing out how this topic was nearly derailed multiple times by overt toxicity which isn't productive to a good discussion. And when it finally seemed to have ended we get some more toxic baiting, from a mod no less. Let's put things into context - this is a topic about a funny series of joke videos that GW have released. The videos are OBVIOUSLY jokes, and are filled with funny/witty comments and winks towards the 40k setting. If anyone thinks that these videos are justfication for actual anger, then those people need to re-evaluate their mental wellbeing. I'm not even joking about this. This is typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on someone else, because it's the internet and, hey, you can (because they can't punch you in the face through the computer, even if you deserve it). Another form of trolling is posting material simply to provoke a negative response from others. Flaming is engaging in or deliberately provoking heated argument online, usually involving personal attacks. Derogatory terms are generally terms used to insult someone else, often on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, spiritual/religious beliefs, etc. None of these types of behaviors are conducive to constructive discussion. There are going to be times when you disagree with someone and/or when you dislike someone or something, but you either need to express yourself constructively or you need to ignore/stay out of the discussion." It is simpler to use the Report Option (as discussed here) and allow the Mods and Admins handle the issue. Evil Eye
To be clear, I haven't watched the videos yet as I'm a bit burnt out on GW's "tongue in cheek" marketing in general. However, from what I can tell this seems like nothing worth getting upset about? Honestly on my laundry list of complaints with modern GW, too many Ultramarines is pretty far down there. Certainly nowhere near the top compared to things like "inflating the size and price of everything beyond all common sense", "pulling a New Coke with the most iconic range in the setting", "removing any and all options and poseability from new kits to the point where refreshes are a thing of dread rather than excitement", "mangling the fluff to the point of absurdity" and "completely butchering the actual game". Heck, the new Calgar and chums are nice looking models. More like that is fine by me. Of course I'd prefer them if they nixed the armour boils, bottle-opener knees and convenient shot-trap gorget but them's the breaks I guess. phandaal and Castellan Wulfrik 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387177-fans-protest-at-warhammer-world/page/10/#findComment-6145087 Share on other sites

With the 500 worlds as the backdrop, the whole "every marine is an Ultramarine if you paint it blue", "every release from now on will be an Ultramarine release" means the Christmas reveal is, in fact, going to be about Ultramarines. That have joined the Red Corsairs. That's right boyos, fresh traitors answering the call of Blackheart himself. That's going to be the plot twist and joke developing in the following videos, Ultramarines that aren't Ultramarines anymore. The couple of hints at the Word Bearers? Lies, deceit, misdirection. Fun idea and Astral Claws are believed to be of Robert's seed but I think more likely it's just dead marines on Chaos bases painted as Ultramarines. This could be the case for 30k and 40k Chaos releases. 40K Red Corsairs with dead Ultras and 30K Lorgar Ascended or whatever else with dead Ultras. I've not kept up with the BL books but they are into the scouring so a Daemon Lorgar model seems inevitable now, unless they just want a plastic base Lorgar. I wouldn't be surprised if they did all the dead Ultramarines first then came out with an actual Ultramarine release on the final day as an uno reverse. An angry plastic Guilliman with fists based on the popular book cover art would be great.
