That's some nice work there, looking at it you'd think it was generic to start with

Tbf, it doesn’t take much work to make blood claws and grey hunters generic either

No, no one likes UM.

Then how are you going to explain their characters selling or being played even during times they don't have strong rules?

Black Templar initiates also work wellas a base for sternguard if you want to us up all the bits in the multipart sternguard kit and even out the ETB sternguard and their mixed loadout into two non-mixed squads (I opted for a 5-man combi-weapon + pyre cannon squad and a 10-man rifle + heavy bolter squad)

I use them as a basis for veteran sergeants for my blood angels!

Given that specific um releases are few and far between, I'm curious as to how they've been forced down customer throats? They may be the box cover boys (because blue is a good beginner colour, with red a runner up if I remember) their rules also only require the base codex unlike the divergent chapters which require an additional purchase. I think most of us have tuned out what's on the box cover making it like white noise (aside from me, as I am a UM player so, I like beating myself up that my figures won't look as nice as the 'eavy metal team work ).

Of course, I'd have more sympathy if the complaint was an over abundance of SM releases and you were chaos/xenos/other Imperium factions.

We all have our things that make us unreasonably angry. For some people, it is Ultramarines. For me, it is any time anyone mentions Suppressors. Worst models in the history of miniatures, maybe ever. I hope this update leads to GW announcing that Suppressors have been retconned out of existence.

Unfortunately, those within GW who would have been responsible for suppressing the Suppressors have been suppressed.

I actually like that no one knows immediately what all these videos mean.  I enjoy these forums as much as the next person, but sometimes the "oh it's this" or confirmation before the actual reveal sometimes is like knowing what's inside your Christmas presents before you open them.  And since it's the season, maybe that's why the videos are deliberately vague?

I did email the address at the end of the video just to say that I've been a fan of the video and got what appears to be a form reply.  Curious to see if Blindhamster got the exact same reply.

Well, there was a time during 3rd edition when any Chapter could take the Emperor's Champion.

Personally, I never understood the hate leveled at the Ultramarines, or any (sub)faction, for that matter. I understand not liking things, but there's a vast difference between not liking something and actual hatred/loathing for something. It's a game. We play it for fun and relaxation. Getting so emotionally wrapped up in it that non-fun emotions are engendered seems counterintuitive.

I see these videos as a bit of marketing fun. There's something coming, for sure, but it's all done with a nod and a wink and a bit of self-awareness.

I posted my reply earlier and it matches the same I’ve seen all over Reddit.

The “conclusion” of these videos doesn’t make sense when they went to the effort to create an email address and an automated reply.

I wonder if it’ll be a weekend thing, and we will see things “escalate” each weekend leading up to Christmas.

I'm lowkey expecting this as things were wrapped up too neatly. Also wouldn't be surprised if that was it with the whole intention to be us talking.

Also loving the monty python and Spaceballs jokes, keep'em coming!

Lol can we tone down the spite?

"Nu Mahreens" "Scrawny ankles" "those in glass houses" Give me a break!

I think the Phobos Marines look great, and you can completely ignore them and run a full army without a single unit in this armour.

I think it might be time for the mods to deal with this one.

Some people probably need to take a break from the internet for a little bit and rediscover a sense of humour.

The video seemed to go quite quickly so I missed a bunch of the bottom text that scrolled past.

- "2+ "plot armour" save, welcomed by all -3-man "Acheran Formation" squads to be added as addendum to codex

- 13 actually the luckiest number

- Construction begins on a small Himalayan science lab
- Ultramarines army declared honorary winners of world chamionships of warhammer for 3rd consecutive year

Thanks!

First thing I thought of with that first bit was the Titus secret level animation from last year, rightly or wrongly.

Not sure on the himalayan science lab reference though. Anyone know what that's referring to?

Big E's lab where he created the Primarchs, under the Imperial Palace is located in the Himalayan mountains.

The Emperor's place is situated over the Himalayas, and he had extensive science labs in the basement.  IIRC, the Sigilites had some sort of facility there for millenia before the Emperor built the palace.

The second time I see it in a single line, but
-3-man "Acheran Formation" squads to be added as addendum to codex

Is a seperate item than the 2+ plot armour save.

Its one that stood out to me as possibly actually hinting something together with this one from the first; "Word Bearers "the worst" says survey. More to Follow" ( but mostly because of the more to follow part being out of context with the rest )

However if one and three have an actual hint, then you'd expect two to have one as well. And while its easy to point at the russ part being a hint.. I will just for fun sake go for the first one... combined with the "every spacemarine is an ultramarine if you paint it blue" and "from now on every release will be an ultramarine release"

I come to the following conclusion;

500 worlds related releases will all be in blue plastic

( ps: dont take the above speculation too serious ;) )

Honestly I think people are taking this way too seriously and over thinking it. This is peak British humour which fair enough doesn't translate well even to other English speaking countries, but ultimately GW is a British company so that's what you're going to get.

I don't see this as anything more than a good joke following off the back of the rage we have had from a large number of smurf releases in a short period (and tbh I think all of that stems from a second Calgar model, if he didn't exist then I don't think the rage would be there). This just seems like the marketing team taking advantage, throwing a few skits together (which given what they are would take minimal work to actually achieve, actors are all probably staff, it gets dark in working hours ATM here, and you can generate t-shirts really quickly and cheaply). I would be surprised if this is hinting at anything more than the already confirmed 500 world's release.

Did you really get that bothered about someone making mild comments about Phobos Nu-Marines? You aren't secretly a Nu-Marine miniature come to life, are you? Also, the part about glass houses was obviously meant to be self deprecating. (Boxer, strong upper body/weak ankles, yadda yadda.)

My favorite part about this marketing gimmick is just how aggro people are getting. Everyone is getting into the spirit of the meme.
