Seeing everyone's pride of the year was pretty inspiring, and I'd like to continue with that idea this year: What is your favorite model you've painted this year, and why? Now my actual model of the year is Ushoran, the Sombre Paladin, the Mortharch of Madness (Sounds so much cooler then Delusion. But, as this is a 40k forum, my 40k Model of the year is my Sister Dogmata: Not only does she look great IMO, she inspired me to restart my Sisters army, my first love of 40k What is everyone else's personal MotY? Aside from that, most of my year has been spent building fantasy or adding to my clanker army from a different galaxy far, far away. For my favorite 40k model, going all the way back to January, it would probably be this Cryptek: Apologies for the tater camera quality as always. Nothing fancy, but I really like how his glowy bits came out. If so...well played @Dr_Ruminahui Yes, I did - I gave him a quartered scheme in my army colour and a dark red/burgundy (GW's screamer pink). Background wise, my EC are relatively recent traitors from a variety of loyalist chapters (basically, the bulk of marines in a warzone) who launched a coup against their incompetent warzone commander... which snowballed into their decent into chaos. Along the way, they free an EC demon prince bound during the scouring, who converts them to worshipping Slaanesh - my EC codex force is those who follow the prince's teaching most closely , while my Heretic Astartes codex force are those who don't. So my force are more EC through the backdoor., rather than being directly descended from the HH EC or having their geneseed. Which is basically a long winded way of saying my Lord Discordant was a techmarine before he fell to chaos;, and I have painted him to reflect that. I intend to do my warpsmith the same way when I paint him. Anyway, nice spot. I like to spend time figuring out bases that feel right for a given army. I love conversion and the pose i did as i felt it hit pretty well the image in my mind. I was so happy with him that i made a squad for him also.
