I can definitely see why they are your favorites. Mine is my Chaplain. I love conversion and the pose i did as i felt it hit pretty well the image in my mind. I was so happy with him that i made a squad for him also. But so to not post too much you can see the squad in my thread with the link in my signature. sitnam
23 hours ago, Dr_Ruminahui said: Yes, I did - I gave him a quartered scheme in my army colour and a dark red/burgundy (GW's screamer pink). Background wise, my EC are relatively recent traitors from a variety of loyalist chapters (basically, the bulk of marines in a warzone) who launched a coup against their incompetent warzone commander... which snowballed into their decent into chaos. Along the way, they free an EC demon prince bound during the scouring, who converts them to worshipping Slaanesh - my EC codex force is those who follow the prince's teaching most closely , while my Heretic Astartes codex force are those who don't. So my force are more EC through the backdoor., rather than being directly descended from the HH EC or having their geneseed Love this background. I too am an enjoyer of Renegade Chapters, and it's always fun seeing warbands that break the mold of the original traitor legions. Your Slaanesh army really reminds me of my Tzeentch army every time I see it, although I think your more marine focused whereas I prefer mortals. Lord_Ikka
I think mine was Gulliman. Not because he was the biggest or most intricate model I did this year, but because he was the first time I really tried to do flames and I think it worked pretty well. It definitely made me more confident about them going forward. sitnam, Valkia the Bloody, Grotsmasha and 10 others 6 7 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387195-your-model-of-the-year-2025/page/2/#findComment-6145493 Share on other sites
Valkia the Bloody
I had been on a 2 year hiatus from the hobby. One thing that brought me back was reading and listening to some Black Library books, among them "Cult of the Spiral Dawn" by Peter Fehervari. In this book, genestealers ride into battle on top of sentinels. This sounded very cool. I needed this. This is one of the reasons I started a Tyranid army (I wanted lots of big monsters, a genestealer cult army is too "horde" for me) and I did a conversion of a genestealer hybrid riding a sentinel (Proxy of a Pyrovore). So this is my model of the year. I had a lot of fun with it. sitnam, Brother Captain Vakarian, phandaal and 11 others 4 10 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387195-your-model-of-the-year-2025/page/2/#findComment-6145600 Share on other sites
sitnam
@Lord_Ikka Flame effects are really fun to work on. In the past I've used contrast paints for the effect. I also love Dark green Guilliman @Valkia the Bloody GSC to Tyranid proxies are always really cool. Though... Spoiler The scene where the Ogryn pull the Genestealer into their transport and beat the hell out of it is my favorite from that novel Valkia the Bloody, Firedrake Cordova, gaurdian31 and 1 other 3 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387195-your-model-of-the-year-2025/page/2/#findComment-6145761 Share on other sites

sitnam
@Tzen Can't say I love Fulgrim as a model, he is one of the weaker Daemon Primarchs to me alongside Angron. That said, you did a fantastic job! I have never painted a face that well. I would of cowardly chose his helmet option so I wouldn't have to paint his face gaurdian31 and Firedrake Cordova 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387195-your-model-of-the-year-2025/page/2/#findComment-6146030 Share on other sites

Brother Christopher
Even though it's not my best-painted model, for me, it has to be my plasticard Thuderhawk that I realised I finished this year. Just for the sake of finalising a project >10 years in the making.
