I, brother Norman, vow to continue getting paint on these Thousand Sons Terminators.

 

 

I got some more trim done on one of them last night after I took the photo, which was the first time I had touched the hobby tools in two weeks. The paint you see above is the only hobbying I've done in the last month. We moved house and our Chaos Spawn has manifested, so there hasn't been any hobby time. But I've got some time off work to try and raise the little tentacle monster, so I might have room for more hobby sessions as the routine develops (I'm taking nights so the wife can sleep). Tzeentch knows if I'll get these models done, but I sure don't!

Having completed my initial vow for may, I'll add Shiv from the last chancers as an extra, and maybe some other minis if I can find the time to work on them by the end of the month

My local Store is running a mystery mini build and paint competition this month.

 

Below is what I had in my mystery bag, and then to the side pre and post priming of what I ended up with after some light conversion work. Post conversion I hope it is sufficiently board appropriate to include it here, added a purity seal to the jump pack thing, a aquilla to the gun, a frag greande on the belt (not visable) and use a Thallax Face plate and chain attachment to change the head and gun.

 

As I have been mostly working on more Old World stuff it is likely the only 40k (adjacent) miniature I will paint this month. So hopefully it also counts a Trooper for the Campaign.

The Anarcho-Syndicalists seek to overthrow all authority within House Nightfall, including the Council of Eight, and to replace it with autonomous worker collectives organized around the anarchist principle "No gods! No masters!" To that end, the Daughter of Anarchy has personally completed dozens of assassination, espionage, and saboteur missions against various enemies of the Anarchists. I fell far short of my goal this month, but still did get a lot done. The primer I used for the Thousand Sons has been a bit of a pain (rubs off on my fingers, doesn't seem to take paint very well) so I probably need to find something else. I ended up finishing 20 Tactical Marines and a White Scars Leviathan I did to take a break from the TS:

 

 

I'll be going out of town shortly so no chance I'm finishing the rest.

I finished building Wazdakka -- lots of sub-assemblies, and not really optional if you want to get paint on details with intent (so many details...). Gonna have to get masking fluid on all the connecting points before painting or he'll never go together straight. Now to get the 'koptas done before I run out of month

@Heraclite Awesome lightning effect. How sturdy do you find the wire to be? Is it more of a display piece or would you be comfortable carrying the mini in a case and using on the tabletop? I'm considering doing something similar but am concerned about how fragile the mini could be game-wise.

Its some florist wire from a shop called Action, it's a Netherland based discount chain that has shops in France and sell all kinds of stuff somewhat seasonally. So you sometimes find some useful stuff but you can't really count on it being regularly available.

 

It's not super sturdy, I don't really play so I don't worry too much about it, but still, it should be fine travelling in a magnetised box (all my mini's bases are magnetised and they are all stored in former biscuit metal boxes). As for playing, as long as you hold the mini by the base it should be fine.

 

I've sunk some length of the wire into the cork on the base and drilled the hand so that it's not glued right on the palm but rather deeper
