It is indeed. Combo of new Chaos Lord back pack and hammer head, the new Jump lords axe and plasma pistol, a chosen head, a skull from the first skull set for his belt, some green stuff and the Wolf Priest body. Thanks so much!

The first week of March is already gone? Where did the time go???

I, Shard of Magnus, continue on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge and for the month of March pledge to complete 14 brimstone horrors. Which feels a bit like cheating as it is mostly finishing the bases with minor touches left for the horrors themselves. But...looking back at my progress the first two months perhaps it's more ambitious than I think given I need to get started on my plodding along vow.

For my plodding along vow of Horus - I've finally done the resin cleaning and loosely decided how I want to break up the sections for painting. Priming will be done later this week. I've had this kit sitting aside for years because I didn't want to do the pain job a disservice to the visual in my head. Now that I'm about to actually start the self-inflicted mental intimidation is very real.  Ugh!

... :wallbash:...

Thats been about how my progress/hobbying has been so far.  Can't begin to express how frustrating its been.  The interest is there before I get to the hobbying.  The desire to paint, and when I do pick up the brush I enjoy it.  Its just finding the effort to beat the procrastination and find the time to actually paint.

I subscribed to the Hachette Combat Patrol magazine, albeit missing out on the awesome premium subscription by a day.  That knocked the wind out of me a bit too.  All because I waited to get wife approval...

Still, I am not defeated.  For now I will put the Inquisitorial Henchmen aside.  They are all but done but I am finding interest hard to push through to paint them.

Instead, we go for another full reset on something that will be easy and I enjoy.

I, Brother Argent, vow to paint 1x Canoptek Wraith by months end.

Grot, can I please add the Inquisitor and Henchmen to my Plodding along vow please.

I struggle with this too. My current solution is either assembled, primed models sitting up in my paint rack, OR ETB models, I keep a stack of them (KT Beginner DG and Astartes at the moment), so when I'm struggling with the grind, I'll grab something down and spend 30mins or so on that.

I also keep my phone out of easy reach, behind me on another desk, just adding a small amount of effort to get it is usually enough of a barrier to stop me from bothering and to keep hobbying.

I am also in exactly the same boat.

I also did the same as you, and ignored my Night Lords for a while and did a Tyranid army in between, just to do something different to get me motivated again.

It also helped to chose a quick and easy paint scheme, so I saw results quickly and was not mired down.

I also agree with Grotsmasha on what he suggested.

In addition, it helps me to put music or an audiobook on while I paint, since I want to know how the story progresses, I am therefore forced to sit down, paint and listen.

However, do not beat yourself up on it.

Putting pressure on yourself will not make this easier.

And sometimes, we just need to take a break, to start new.

Part of my vow done with the Arcuitor Magisterium.

In the background some views of WIP stuff: the Inquisitor is almost done (I need to make some highlights on the cape and to do the servoskull I've forgotten when starting the batch). Wraithblades have received their first layer of black

In March, I'm planning to redo/repaint/revisit some of my completed models. I'll be adjusting the paintjobs, bases and rearming some miniatures (swapping arms, weapons, backpacks). By virtue of these changes, the completed models will revert to being incomplete, as per the rules. Does that count for a pledge or at least as an out-of-challenge entry? I don't know why, but what I'm planning to to somehow feels off - against the spirit of the challenge. At the same time, participation is a great source of motivation and might just push me to get these updates done within a reasonable time frame.
