Old school scout sergeant is done.

The base will stay as is for now as I really want to give it a 3rd ed feel with a green base and don't want to buy a specific paint just for the base as I will probably get a close approximation of goblin green when the ork issues of combat patrol finally drop.

 

When the squad is done I will also try my hand at transfers. But the paintjob itself is done.

Well I finished this guy about a week or so ago:

Which has given me the first complete squad I have had in a long time.  Here he is with his two buddies, both complete in previous years for in the ToH.

 

So, moving on from an actual completed model I have decided to try to cath up on some of the back log/plodding along while I wait for my Combat Patrol stuff to start arriving.

 

I've suddenly got some free time as I've been stood down from work following an accident so... try to find a silver lining with things I guess.

 

I, Brother Argent, vow to continue to attempt to find my Hobby Mojo by repainting (some for the third time) 5x Eldar Guardians from my Plodding Along vow.

 

 

These models are likely older then some members on the forum, having had them since I first started the hobby back in the mid to late 90s I think.  Back when Guardians came in a box of twenty and no special weapon platforms.

More March completions, the Malcador Infernus, Zoat, the rest of the Blackstone Fortress terrain batch. Also made decent progress on the Kill team, but have run out of hobby time for the month, will try and get them completed over the long Easter weekend - didn't manage to start the HH Marines.

The Terminator Apothecary and Vanguard Veterans are done and I have a whole new hatred of painting white. White Scar is a nightmare to work with, but it's such a jump from my other whites, I need to find some way to get the armour looking white and then highlight it with a brighter white. Have a custom scheme I want to do with a lot of white, but maybe the trick is just to make it dirtier?

I have kept on working on my plodding along and added extra scenery:

 

- a crate dump:

 

 

- a hill, a big rock and some extra fairy chimneys:

 

 

I am almost out of styfoam but I may have enough to had another hill, may be more modular. Or a field of craters. I have also started working on a fuel dump, using plastic tube and GW drums... But next step is rather building and painting the Servohaulers. I've primed the sprues yesterday. But it will be a next month's job. Or even for May may be...

Got two Plague Marines done, as vowed. That's 3/7 complete, with the other four having some basecoats done. Will be glad to be done with this project, I haven't enjoyed doing their trim like I thought I would.
