Huge hate for them tricking me by showing me Rath's name on a Necron book before I realized it's another reprint of Infinite and the Divine

Chem Dogs sounds interesting, will pick up Flower's Ghaz book because Slitta da Stabba is a great name

this doesn't instill me with confidence for the "celebration" though if they're announcing all of these now

Love that we’re getting more orks. Maybe I’ll finally connect with a Flowers’ novel. Not sure why, but I haven’t enjoyed his work as much as everyone else despite its obvious quality.

Also very excited for a Chem Dogs novel. I’ve wanted one for years and years and had given up hope at this point. Fingers crossed Davis does a good job.

I thought his Savlar short story Those Without Mercy was pretty decent. Check that one out if you want a taste of what's to come!

Savlar Chemdogs makes me feel that Gw came up with loads of inventive stuff when I was a kid roughly 20 years ago- and encouraged fans to do the same.

Now there's a lot less focus on inventing new stuff, converting, etc. Even the characters in video games look exactly like the models.

Maybe I've missed something. This is just how I feel rather than an objective fact. Maybe it's the upshot of the chapterhouse case.

I think GW encouragement of converting and kitbashung has waxed and wanted over time,.and inconsistently within the company. Warcom has had plenty of articles covering conversion project, we have had new regiments pop up for the Astra Military long after the Chapterhouse lawsuit. Stuff like the Indigan Prefects and Athonian Tunnel Rats all came out after the Chapterhouse stuff.

I'm not sold on Callum due to his Tome Keeper stories which I have found dissapointing, but I'll have to check his chem dogs

Coming down from the other thread and Valraks morning video

In the authors afterward in Ghost Legion, Brooks confirms that Solomon is getting a model and that he has seen it (reference the pale spear rumor image from last year)

If that's the case, I would assume it's going to be shown at the Celebration, and before the book actually releases, so maybe some kind of thing this week? Pre-recorded videos or something perhaps

I was surprised by no BL pre-orders.  After the WarCom article earlier this week I was sure they would be up this week.  If they don’t appear next week’s pre-order announcement we may not see them until the Celebration week.

Let’s hope they announce some details on the next Scouring book then as well.

Yeah, I guess its my bad for thinking it would've been in the same month that its been in for a few years now

But I guess we get a merch showcase now. Hurray?

I dunno. The whole thing is weird to me. Normally its BL celebration in February, Adepticon in March which, except for the Heresy last year has been used to show the new game edition (which valrak also thinks is happening because its slotted for a two hour preview), and then some others preview in May.

Now BL celebration and Adepticon will both be in march? Unless its a normal show+Celebration and thats why the length, with the new edition being shown in May like last year

Im just spiraling

I have a feeling they wanted to ditch the whole Celebration but people have been asking about it on various forums, I even saw people asking on their BL FB account. And now they are quickly putting it together?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this was the case. I think our only real hope for a return to older Celebrations (and Emperor willing, Weekenders) is a massive influx of readers once the Amazon show releases, whenever that may be.

I fully expect them to be unprepared for the success of a potential TV show. Just like they were unprepared for the success of Total War Warhammer, Space Marine 2, Secret Level, etc

Most certainly, but at least a proper Celebration/Weekender can be cobbled together within a year. As for actually having enough books or models to sell, that's a different story entirely :whistling:

Recently, I did an interview with Graham McNeill, and I think this excerpt fits well here. For me, it’s always interesting to read – or, in this case, to ask directly – what authors themselves would like to write about.

GM: Too many to list! Obviously, I’d love to continue the Uriel Ventris series and develop more Iron Warriors books. I also want to delve into more Chaos and Xenos stories too, and if there were a new Big Series to really sink my teeth into, then that’d be great too – you know, an Age of Apostasy/Scouring kind of thing. I’ve always wanted to tell the story of The Battle for Macragge, as it has everything you want for a powerful and dramatic story. From the fantasy side, I stand more than ready to write a book on the Siege of Carroburg, as well as pen stories set in the Great War Against Chaos. Some really juicy stuff there that would be awesome to see brought to life.
...
And hopefully the powers that be at Black Library will set me loose on more Uriel Ventris, Honsou, et al stories. So, yeah, busy, busy, busy…

You can find the full interview here (though it’s in Ukrainian, so you’ll need to use a translator): https://uageek.space/interviu-z-gremom-maknillom/

Does feel a bit like BL isn't returning his calls now, doesn't it?

Well you see they're already so busy with all of the *gestures vacantly at the horizon* that they're doing right now

All of the releases they're putting out

All of the hype for the future they're generating

On a more hopeful note, about halfway done with Apostle, and the early feedback was right, its definitely one of Annadales best and if the quality holds up, Id put it as one of the top Chaos books in recent memory

So there's a second coin folks can get from their local GW this month, a alpha legion one they say ties into the Black Library Celebration

So I guess they didn't forget? Supposedly at the end of the month?

Seems weird to release the book weeks before the tie-in coin and possibe miniature reveal

BL dropping a suprise stealth Alpha Legion book (scouring maybe) no one has even hinted at would be be peak marketing. Complete with Omegon mini (as 30k is doing the second wave of Primarchs) and a second coin with slightly different design.

Which is why i am 1000% certain that none of the above will happen and they just bungled the release schedule.
