Both narrators/cover arts are listed As it should be - I was disappointed when I lost my OG A Thousand Sons audiobook when they re-recorded it. darkhorse0607 and DarkChaplain 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387216-upcoming-bl-stuff-2026/page/16/#findComment-6163519 Share on other sites

I feel the same way about my Banks narrated Scars book. Miyakita has really gotten better with more experience but I thought Scars and Red Tithe were pretty rough since they were one of his first There is a new intro in the Keeble version of Horus Rising though. I just listened to the sample but there's a new whole "This is the horus heresy" thing that I dont remember being in the old version. Death of Integrity also had a intro disclaimer, so maybe its just their new thing DarkChaplain 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387216-upcoming-bl-stuff-2026/page/16/#findComment-6163554 Share on other sites
DarkChaplain
Wow. Wow. Actually Wow. They FINALLY remembered that, back in the "good old days" of 2023, on November 18, they'd released the first of the Malus Darkblade novels as an audiobook. Then never again brought it up, let alone released book 2. It appears that on April 18, we'll finally get the second audiobook, only two and a half years after the first. You bet I'll throw a fit if they didn't at least keep Andrew James Spooner as narrator.... The Carnage Unending 40k anthology is also coming, as well as the standard edition/audio of Aestred Thurga: Pyre of Faith. Nagashsnee
With Thulia Ghuld coming out in mini, i wonder if that means she will get a novel. It would be low key hilarious if she gets a book before Kelbor Hal. But it is a mini bussiness. darkhorse0607
We dont have a thread for it, but since it just came out and I hadn't seen a mention of it.. I am about 6 chapters into Ghazghkull Warlord of Warlords and its really excellent. Its funny without being overly done like Brooks' orks can be, gives a good glimpse at the different clans and Harry Myers does a great job with the narration. Highly recommend so far if you're feeling Orky Denny, Casual Heresy and Ubiquitous1984 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387216-upcoming-bl-stuff-2026/page/16/#findComment-6163832 Share on other sites
theSpirea
Just going to add a bit of rant here. All my preorders on 14.03 failed, yet GW still charged me four times. I contacted them and they are denying it, saying they can only see failed authorizations and blaming me, claiming I used an expired card. I had to send them multiple statements from my bank clearly showing that each of those four transactions was processed correctly and that the money reached them. Now they need to verify it with their finance team, because their system shows something different. We are talking about hundreds of euros gone from my account for weeks. Now, I managed to get Horus Rising in hardback from a friend, and I have to rant again. The paper quality is poor compared to what they use for HH/SoT hardbacks previously. So they increased the price and lowered the print quality. Excellent move. This was my first purchase this year and it went horribly. Lord Marshal
Some up and coming Ork-themed books. Don't ask where they were during the Celebration. Quote Skeeg Horntoof is an Ork with big dreams – the biggest hat, the most dakka, and the ambition to become the greatest freebooter the galaxy has ever seen. As kaptin of Gork’s Revenge, he is guided by Da Freebooterz Code – a set of rules so outrageous they just might work. However, the kaptin has now instructed his boyz to plunder the hunting grounds of the legendary rogue trader Lord Captain Antoinette von Hume. Deadly, resourceful, and merciless, the pirate queen* of the Halo Stars has been pillaging her way across the void for decades, and an upstart freebooter with extravagant headgear isn’t about to get in her way. But Horntoof has his eyes on the biggest prize of all, and he has a plan – one that will take all his guile, all his kunnin’, and all his dakka. Da Freebooterz Code is going to make him a legend… as long as von Hume doesn’t obliterate him first. Quote Find out what makes the Orks some of the most dangerous beings in the galaxy in a new omnibus (omnitrukk?) of stories from Dan Abnett, Aaron Dembski-Bowden, and Sandy Mitchell. This collection includes the iconic Armageddon novel, Helsreach, the story of Ciaphas Cain’s deadly run-in with Orks, Caves of Ice, and I Am Slaughter, the start of the Beast Arises saga. There are also three short stories, making Legends of the Waaagh! a great starting point for Ork enthusiasts and essential research for anyone going up against them in the upcoming launch box for the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. Quote Dig further into the trials facing the embattled Imperium in World Ablaze, an anthology of 11 brand new short stories centred around the apocalyptic conflict on Armageddon. A rogue’s gallery of Black Library authors explore the monumental task ahead of those forces defending the war world, including Black Templars dragging wounded comrades across miles and miles of ice, Astra Militarum troopers being saved at the last minute by Wazdakka Gutsmek (really), and much more. If you’ve ever wanted to see a team-up between the Space Wolves and Salamanders, a classically forlorn Crimson Fists defence, or the misadventures of a past-his-prime Orky flyboy given one final mission, World Ablaze is for you. Wonder if we're getting this instead of the usual novel named after the starter set ALA Cthonia's Reckoning? Quote The modern classic that tells of Ghazghkull Thraka’s rise in the words of his loyal bannergrot Makari returns with a new Illustrated Edition, packed with annotations and insights from author Nate Crowley. This is the definitive – if slightly embellished – history of the Warlord of Warlords, and Lord Inquisitor Tytonida Falx will find out just how Ghazghkull became the single greatest Ork in the galaxy. Or she’ll go mad trying. Quote You can’t have an Ork invasion of Armageddon without Commissar Yarrick, and now that he’s back, we’re delving back into his tortured past to read about the exploits of this legendary leader. Yarrick: The Omnibus features two novels, a novella, and six short stories – it returns in paperback with a new cover, so if you haven’t read it already, you really should before the fighting ramps up again.** Edited 19 hours ago by Lord Marshal skylerboodie 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387216-upcoming-bl-stuff-2026/page/16/#findComment-6164025 Share on other sites

Casual Heresy
World Ablaze stands out to me from this lot. Seems like an interesting selection of stories. And I love everything about the cover except whatever the marine is doing with his power fist. Is he setting up an epic clothes line take down of a charging Ork? Preparing to bro fist his pal off screen? We may never know. Can anyone recommend the Yarrick books? Never bought or read at the time so could be tempted now if people think it's worth it. DarkChaplain
World Ablaze looks like they recycled the Dawn of Fire photoshop cover template a bit. Yarrick getting an omnibus reprint again without a new Annandale novel being announced is decidedly annoying. And yes, they're well worth it, but keep in mind that this isn't yet 3rd War of Armageddon Yarrick. One novel is about his early years as a Commissar, the other is the 2nd War and the novella is about him captured by Orks at Golgotha, which rocked hard. The books were obviously building up to the 3rd War, yet a third novel has not happened to this day. Thanks, BL. The Ork omnibus is complete nonsense. People will buy it for Helsreach, which has been omnibus'd before elsewhere, Caves of Ice has been in an Omnibus with many reprints for almost 20 years and I Am Slaughter makes no bloody sense to bundle outside of its series, least of all in an Ork collection, because the book barely even has Orks in it. But seriously, they hit us with a Celebration that had, what, ONE new book we didn't have announced before, a little poll, an article about the Scouring without an announcement of book 2, then follow it up with multiple weeks of no releases, the website closure and forcing a poor App on us, then a two and a half year late sequel audiobook and now at least some new stuff that should've been shown off at the Celebration. Never change, BL/GW, never change. By which I mean, please, change, it's desperately needed. darkhorse0607, theSpirea, Felix Antipodes and 1 other 3 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387216-upcoming-bl-stuff-2026/page/16/#findComment-6164143 Share on other sites
darkhorse0607
The first (I think?) Yarrick novel has an audio version, can't speak for the others but it (Imperial Creed) is pretty good. It is a bit odd that they're doing this massive Armageddon push and didn't have a new novel in the queue ready to go with the miniature. Istead choosing to go the WHC route again to explain this massive step for a character like they did with Ghaz, Dante, etc (I assume Seth's eventual Primarisification will happen here too even though that'd be a massive 180 for him, and others will get the same treatment) DarkChaplain 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387216-upcoming-bl-stuff-2026/page/16/#findComment-6164152 Share on other sites

Felix Antipodes
Hmmm, only World Ablaze seems like something worthwhile of this bunch. I like Woolley and Crowley, but I’m not a seeing a need for an I+A Edition of Prophet and I’ve become a bit sick and tired of Orks as comedy stories. I like them as sound funny but scary mother:cuss:ers up close and personal. The rest are just reprints we’ve seen packaged several times before (except for I, Slaughter, who’s inclusion makes no sense at all). Thanks but no thanks.
