Grotsmasha
If I'm getting credit for it, I should post the proof, here is my KT '25 Death Guard Marine, I will be adding details to the base once the full 5 are complete. My focus for January will be the Primarisized Ezekiel I started way back in .... February The blue of the armour is basically done, but everything else is just a contrast base. I have since "found" a cheap resin Ezekiel to pilfer his sculpted back banner, and have attached that. mini_painting_mike
Ah nice one! That death guard is suitably disgusting! Are you using Citadel contrast paints or Army Painter Speed Paints? Looking forward to seeing this progress! Grotsmasha
So due to the unavoidable move to my hobby space, I had to pivot what I'd be completing for the month. I choose "Ded Killy" here, and over a few small sittings yesterday I was able to finish him up. In hindsight, I *PROBABLY* had enough time to finish Ezekial, but am happy with Killy here, Edited January 26 by Grotsmasha mini_painting_mike, Bouargh and Brother Anderson 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387345-grotsmasha-bunker-bingo-challenge-26/#findComment-6153761 Share on other sites

Grotsmasha
Had a quick couple of games with my partner today. First up was Combat Arena: Lair of the Beast. Although I've owned this game since release, and had the models assembled since Day 1, we've never got around to trying it out. Blood Angels Brother-Sergeant Vennaro, Missionary Zealot Pious Vorne, Ratling Thief Raus Gaffar, and Aeldari Ranger Amallyn Shadowguide stepped into the Arena, ready to face the Ambull and it's Bore-wyrms. (Due to a misunderstanding of the turn cycle on my part...) Ratling Theif Raus lurched forward, moving several spaces, and threw an explosives charge directly behind the Ambull (expending ALLL of his energy for the phase, leaving him twidling his thumbs while everone else had multiple actions...). Next, Pious Vorne took a single step forward, unloading with her Flamer, wounding the Ambull several times. Following Pious' lead, Amallyn the Aeldari Ranger opened up with her Sniper Rifle, also scoring multiple wounds. With a mighty roar, Sergeant Vennaro's Bolt Pistol barked as he strode toward the Beast, scoring a single wound. Due to the fickle nature o the gods (aka poor shuffling..) The Mighty Ambull DID NOT take a turn, instead suffered the heat once more of the Flamer, taking four wounds. Channeling her inner calm and focus, Amallyn also unleashed another brutal salvo, dealing another four wounds. Deciding he preferred the scream of his chainsword, Sergeant Vennaro engaged the Ambull in close quarters, savagely slicing 3 further wounds from the Beast, and Raus continued to twiddle his thumbs, looking at the Ambulls behind. In one final round of savagery, the three heroes shot and stabbed the Ambull into the ground. (At this point my partner decided that we'd "won" with the Beast dead, and I was like, no? Now we fight to the death, last man standing!!!! She said "nah-uh" and left the table. It was at this point I decided that the only thing to do was have the three Imperial's turn on the filthy Xenos and call it a moral Victory). After lunch, we got out our second game of the day, Dawn of War: Onslaught. After the Rules reading mishaps of Combat Arena, I read the Onslaught Rules a little more thouroghly (I still got them wrong, but less). The Attack: Having successfully infiltrated Bastion Theta, Judiciar Xacharus, Ancient Barachus, Bladeguard Zaephus and Eradicator Arkos launched their coordinated attacks, flanking the unaware Orks from either end of the Bastion. Charging the mob of 3 Boys surrounding the Sector D Power Unit, Judiciar Xacharus claimed first blooding, sending of the boys to meet Gork (...or possibly Mork...), drawing his Bolt Pistol, Ancient Barachus took aim over the Judiciar's shoulder, his aim holding true and dispatching a second of the ladz. At the other end of the Bastion, Bladeguard Zaephus drew his pistol and fired as he charged the more heavily guarded Power Unit of Section C, his shots bouncing from the more durable armour of the Mega Armoured Ork. Spying a Nob and some ladz on his flank, Eradicator Arkos marched on the Power Unit in the middle of the Bastion, puching a hole clean through the Ork Nob as he entered the chamber. Enraged by the sneak attack, the Orks jumped at the chance of combat, wounding Xacharus and Barachus twice each, with Zaephus suffering the most with three wounds at the hands of the three Nobz. Arkos' armour held, and the wanton fire of the boys blastas proved ineffective, leaving him unscathed. Trusting the skill of his Ancient, Xacharus charged across the Bastion in a burst of speed toward the lower of the centre Power Units, firing his pistol as he went, his rounds bounced harmlessly off the thicker armour of a Mega Armoured Nob. Raising his mighty banner as a club, Barachus swung a mighty blow on the remaining Ork in Sector D, laying him low. Stepping toward the Power Unit, he began the Rites of ReInitiation to bring it back online. Switching from Pistol to Blade, Zaephus threw several fierce attacks at the trio of Nobz, with their defense too high, he once more failed to land a killing blow. In the upper centre Chamber, Arkos squared his feet and let loose a sweeping blast of his weapon, vapourising the remaining orks. Satisfied the Power Unit was clear, he advanced and also began the Rites of Activation. Outnumbered 3 to 1, the Orks looked to put some serious pain on the Judiciar, however the Boyz fumbled their attacks in their eagerness, leaving only the Mega Armoured Nob to land a wounding blow. Bladeguard Zaephus continued his gruelling duel with the three Nobs, taking one further wound. Trusting his Executioner's Blade, Judiciar Xacharus aimed his rage of the Mega Armoured Nob, managing to lay it and an adjacent boy low under the flurry of blows. Stepping from the newly reactivated Power Unit, Ancient Barachus raised his pistol and fired at the remaining lad flanking the Judicar, the shot blowing the Ork from his feet. With the area clear about him, the Judiciar began the Rites of Initiation on the third Power Unit. Finally finding the rythmn in his combat, Zaephus managed to get beneath the armour of the Mega Armoured Ork and slay it with a masterful stroke. In the upper chamber, with his Power Unit reinitialised, Arkos began his move with haste to Zaephus' aid, the sounds of combat ringing through the Bastion. Rounding the corner as the Mega Armoured Ork fell, he fired a quick blast eliminating one of the two remainin Nobz. With a mighty roar of defiance the last remaining Ork Nob threw itself at the Bladeguard Veteran, however with Zaephus now warmed to the heat of battle the Orks attacks were easily blocked and parried. Raising from the Power Unit with the Rites complete, Judiciar Xacharus took careful aim and blew the back of the skull from the remaining Ork, allowing Zaephus to begin the Rites of Initiation of the final Power Unit as the rest of the squad prepared to Defend the inevitable Ork counterattack. The Defense: To be continued...
