I am not too sure how it fits in the matrix, but I may propose that each Company accounts for a Battleline Entry and all the rest combined as an Elite Entry. Bouargh Posted January 19 Author Share Posted January 19 And here come my first units to start filling the card: - Tactical Company - Veteran Company - 2 Devastator detachments, one Inquisitor and one Speeder detachment This will complete 2 entries for Rank & File and 1 entry for Elite What's next? I will wait for feb, but, staying with Epic, a Warlord as God of War entry is likely. I also have a full Land Raider Company, So, more Monsters and Machines. Yet, I do not have Psykers to complete the column. Yet... Are the games fun? I haven't played a single game of Space Marine (ooP EPIC) since ... 1995 or 96. My last game was a few months after the release of Titan Legions with my unpainted SM supporting Titans from another player in a multiplayer game. Before that I used to play only a few games as it has been more of a compulsory investment than a gaming group centered project. My area was lacking of contenders... And after that, real life matters sent forced me to disconnect from the hobby quite a lot: no time and no money. When I have been able to get time to consider coming back,Epic 40000 was freshly released and the play tests I've had in GW store did not pleased me at all. So I stopped everything on the matter until resuming painting more or less recently . I passed my frustration buying FW Wave Serpents that I ended up painting... in 2023. But as far as I am concerned, the initial versions of Epic (Space Marine namely) were fun, fast, and required less space than WFB or 40k. A winning trio? It is therefore problematic to fill row and file. Should I use this GW discount voucher I have to add such categories either for my Eldar or Dark Eldar forces? While I think about it I guess I will resume painting in fev with more ooP Epic. Or do we own it and force ourselves to do a side project to get the square. Maybe I should open that discussion out to the rest of the club? A discussion would be OK and helpful; within such a frame I might propose for example that a "divergence" rule could be set such as for example: "you can substitute by any other category of the card BUT with a penalty", such as marking 50% of the poinst only... Just a though Edit: BTW, I've used my discount voucher to add Eldrad and Wraithguards to my collection, so I will have 2 entries as side projects that comply with the current card requirement (if Wraithguards are considered as undead thingies). Bouargh Posted February 4 Author Share Posted February 4 In a mind set of capitalizing all my WIP stuff, I will add to my card the following elements in the associated categories: - 10 Drukharii Wytches - Rank and File - 1 piece of custom scenery - Paint Something - 1 ooP Epic Warlord Titan - Gods of War I might even do more if my Psychics are delivered... Otherwise I have all the Epic stuff mentionned last month still in the queue for being painted. Beware: fresh glue! ALthough I glued the filler last saturday it is so cold and wet outhere in my garage that it does not dry... to be moved in the kitchen above the fridge where motor and heat exchanger made it always warmer... mini_painting_mike Posted February 5 Share Posted February 5 So I have had a think about this, and I think the voucher approach may be a good idea. A square can be substituted for 'paint something' but you lose 50% of the points for it. I may be worth it to someone to hit that row bonus (bonus for hitting all the squares in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal as broken down on the card). However... I did also have another idea that I will run alongside it... In the square that described 'Supernatural or Psycher'... there's nothing that stipulates that the psycher need be alive... MWAHAHA! So on that basis, if it is sufficiently well painted as to justify it's own square, I will also award points for a dead psycher or supernatural - ie on a scenic base! But sure that Silver shards terrain, Gnarl pits with glowing warpstone, Chaos Stargate... Could also be elligible. Back on topic; some progress this week with 2 entries planned already done: the "God of War"-lord Titan and the "Something..." entries. (EDIT: Two out of One – something for my plodding along - Bouargh´s miniatures´ closet clean-up - The Bolter and Chainsword) The Wytches have been built and are in the waiting list for painting: The built is of course not that legit vs. rules and WYSIWYG; I explain: I already have one unit built when the datasheet for Ynnari wytches was released, without gladiator weapons. With the datasheet released in the Drukharii codex, up to 3 can bear such gladiator weapons. I therefore built 6 models with such tooling in prder to redistribute between the 2 units and use them in any army. I have used the bladed scourges inc. spares from the Venom crew. Other models were personalized so that they use in priority spare bits from previous sprues (dual knives from Venom and Raider crew, whip from Scourges...). Bitz managment or so: I do rather deplete old sprues from previous box rather than getting half used sprues from all boxes....
