I don't know, I unfortunately wasn't into Horus Heresy during the original run of the Black Books, so I don't know what they're meant to be like. I was expecting way more iconography guides, more miniature showcase, more maps, more artwork. Don't get me wrong this is awesome and I'm very grateful it's free. Most of them were very much walls of text, occasionally broken up by a map or colour plate. I actually really like those photoshopped images with muzzle flash and a sense of movement added in big nostalgia from like 4th ed that used to do that a lot too. For example there's a great Land Speeder image in the 4th or 5th edition codex that does it.
