These are fine. Huge improvement over the resin ones, but not quite as cool as their shooty brothers.

Squat, not super dynamic, and as @Evil Eye and @Redcomet noted - too "designed."

I was hoping for somthing a bit closer to the Cephalyx Monstrosities from warmachine, which are a decade old now and better capture the spirit of the concept.

I actually quite like these. I also prefer their armoured look to the fleshy Obliterators. A shame the article doesn't go into much detail about the kit though. As is standard for modern GW I'm guessing they'll be almost no options or posability.

I bet they look great painted as Night Lords.

They are aggressively okay. They look a lot like updated mini-Helbrutes. I'm really not a fan of the fleshmetal Chaos look, but at least they look better than most of the abominations vomited out during the 6th edition Chaos wave of fleshmetal designs. Oh, and yes, they look better than Eightbound, but looking better than Eightbound is like beating Peter Dinklage at basketball.

It's getting even more ridiculous that they held these back from the January 16 preview. AoS doesn't even have the imminent new Battletomes on preorder until Saturday, with it then being over a month before they're actually released, but the Iron Warriors are only missing their Defiler and maaaaaaaybe Perturabo if he's actually happening, in the third week since the preview show...

Same with the new obliterators before them, the new mutilators no longer seem to stem down from terminators, but rather centurions.

Also same as with the obliterators, i like these more than I like the loyalist version it stems from.

I can barely see little bit of mutation at the back of one and some little on arms and torso.

But these, as many other models seem to look... Too clean? Mainstreamed? There´s nothing really chaosy feeling on these amongst all the chaos stuff. Atleast main 4 have something intresting, but everything CSM is just... tad clean and safe feeling, surely GW´s paintstyle is to blame, but so is the safe sculpts lately

I like them, but I think the paint scheme is too clean. Bit of dirtying up and they'll look much better!

That seems to always be a thing with GW's paint jobs. They make it too clean. Even IF they want to try and show off extra details on the model, it doesn't fit the 40k aesthetic.

Absolutely! Works well for some models, not great for others. Looking forward to seeing the wider community posts where painters get their hands on them and we get to see some different paint schemes.

Well, I am into Chaos, I liked the new Obliterators and had fun painting them.

However, somehow, I am not sold on these Mutilators. Kind of "meh" for me. At least they look better than the old original ones.

Maybe I should convert some Saturnine terminators as proxies?

Re their cleanness/lack of warpiness it might be result of trying too hard to make them legion/chaos power agnotsic plus less room to manouvre if we have Dark Mech/Vashtorians inbound

But I agree they could do with less armour

Oh these are nice, though now I wonder if Obliterators will be handled via separate sprue. Maybe they want to wait until they get around to parsing out Venomcrawlers.

On another note, depending on how the sizes work out this Obliterator is on the left is my new candidate for making a Terminator Daemon Prince.

Much better than the older, mainly because are cast in plastic, and not in Finecr..I mean "Finecast". But still not very interesting astounding as unit,on design level at least.

Anyway,if they come as boxes of 3 and as a separate unit, GW will do the same with the Obliterator unit, and they redesign them?

Yeah I don't think they've managed to sell the armoured/mutated look as well on these (or the Shadowspear-era Obliterators) as they did with the Helbrute, but given the absolutely abysmal previous rendition, this was about as much of a free hit as the design studio ever gets.

Minicompare quick with it again; They are a smidsge shorter than Oblits who have shoulder cannons. Also Saturnines mnatch nicely in size so violently hacking the two kits together will probably work.

In other news, my dreams of an easy Terminator Daemon Prince that isn't built from Horus Ascended is dashed once again.

I actually like them. I think they would look fine painted up with flesh-armour like my oblits. My main concern is if we go back to units of three for oblits as well the unit I already have will be made illegal again.
