The dark grey resin(There is glare in the photo; in reality, it is much darker.) shown in the pictures is one I bought on eBay. After receiving it, I noticed that the packaging looks too new and the color is dark gray. I have never seen FW resin in dark gray before. At the same time, you can notice that my label has sharp corners, whereas after looking at many pictures online, I found that the labels are all rounded. The model also has an extra gate. Did I end up buying a recast?

New comparison added.

Edited 11.02.2026. The seller replied to my message four days ago, which was the last day of the buyer protection period, and has not responded to any messages since. This is the seller’s homepage — please stay cautious. After I pointed out the issue, he is still selling recast DKK.

The dead giveaway for recasts is double mold lines. FW's resin colour has varied a little over the years, but that looks very much a recast to me (which, imo, is only a problem if you paid genuine prices for it).

I paid genuine prices for it :(. I added some new comparison. I find some of the textures are missing on the darker one.

I would try for a refund with the Seller, but assuming they don't, I'd raise a ticket with eBay themselves.

I was too naive. In fact, I only started paying attention after I saw someone mention a few days ago that there are fake FW packages. The seller pretended to say he would check and deliberately dragged it out for a week. Now it’s already been 30 days since I received the item, so I think eBay probably won’t step in anymore. Should I expose him?

eBay's policy is 60 days I believe (or maybe that was Paypal?), plus they have access to all your messages, I would open a support ticket and explain it's a non-genuine copy.

Thank you. I will contact eBay first.

I also had an issue with a non-geniune item (not GW). Do you know how to raise a support ticket? I have looked all over eBay and I can't find you how to do it.

Under your Purchase History, on the item in question, click the More Items/Actions drop-down, select Help or Report

eBay refused to provide assistance on the grounds that the 30-day protection period has passed. I suppose I can only learn a lesson from this.

Did you pay by PayPal? If so, it might be worth looking at disputing the transaction on the basis of misrepresentation? They give you 180 days to raise a chargeback. Depending on the regulations where you live, the above might also apply to your card provider.

I think that every FW model I've purchased came with the massive chunk of resin with "GW" on there, so the smaller sprue with "DR1" on these does look suspect to me, but I'm not sure if my memory is gaslighting me in that regard. I don't think I've got any smaller FW kits in my pile of shame to compare them too. Perhaps I could dig out my old Wave serpent turret blister pack and see if that's similar?

My Aeronautica Imperialis ground assets are like that. The gate is larger than the guns attached to it

@Darth_Kanade - it looks like your images are hosted on imgur, which aren't visible in the UK. If you would like your images to be seen by all members of the community, you can upload them to the Bolter and Chainsword's Gallery feature (tutorial).

Thank you for your help. I created an album and uploaded the photos. I’m not sure whether this complies with the forum rules. Now all members can see them.

Yeah, that definitely doesn't look right - as you've pointed out, the detail is a bit on the "smooshy" side for Forgeworld (a bit like it had a thin coat of plastic cement painted onto it and then left to re-set).
