I'm assuming it'll be the same price as a Knight Crusader, or maybe Fulgrim. So somewhere between $175-195USD.

I'm guessing somewhere in the Norn Emissary to Knight price bracket. It's not a named Character so it doesn't pay that tax.

With the prices being what they are nowadays, I have to absolutely agree. It's one of the many reasons why I don't collect or play anymore.

Did anyone determine the base size of this thing and if it matches the Norn Emissary? I wouldn't be surprised if GW adds on a few more bucks as they are prone to do on occasion with some of the big new models. Maybe around $150.

160mm round base. There isnt much in the game that uses it right now but it's notably bigger than a norn.

I think it's just the Necron Monolith that uses it in 40k, although in AoS it shows up relatively often for big centrepiece models like Archaon, Alarielle, Teclis, the new Zombie Dragon and, perhaps most relevant to this particular case, the Arachnarok.

Its got a base that's bigger than a knight's, and with its height and various options it appears to have as much plastic as a knight kit, so I would be surprised if it was any cheaper, money wise.

Tigershark and Orion/Ares have one, if that counts. 

 

I was going to use it for a Landraider (I base tanks) but it was a bit too small.

Ended up with a 200x155 oval from 3rd party.

Front claws aren't even connecting to anything anymore because the lascannons are just pasted over where the connecting limbs used to be. I'm guessing they wanted to say they'd have liked a lower profile but this just breaks the model.

With the base being so large (bigger than a Knight) I have to assume this is not only going to be a super expensive kit, but probably something you only see one of in a list???

 

Maybe there will be a Defiler Detachment giving the option of running like 5 of these and some cultists. I can only imagine what this is going to cost me though.

Not yet, next week is talk of what it can do and I believe the next set of books for the "eye of terror". But not on pre-order yet. Might be a couple+ weeks yet.

Probably gonna be a mid March preorder or so if I had to guess. The Maelstrom stuff is just going into preorder now, the Eye of Terror and all its associated kits won't come out for at least some weeks. We don't know yet what the Iron Warriors are up to, that's supposed to be an article next week, or even who they're up against, so that might be yet another weekly article before the preorders are announced.

I don't imagine it'll become a 400 pt unit over night, I suspect gameplay wise a list with 3 will be quite possible, if not financially inadvisable.

a 2-3 week gap from reveal to preorder is more than enough. 
 

for me personally the second the war com article goes up the preorders should go live.

 

but this 4-8 week period from reveal to preorder is stupid.

Defiler looks amazing, maybe closer to the original fluff than the first model. I assume this will be £65/£75 which is about the price of a meal for two in a mid range pub/restaurant in the UK these days.

In 2005 a meal for two was ~£40 and the defiler was about £35, so maintaining the price point of a meal for two = a defiler

I'll get more mileage out the defiler but assuming over here it'll be priced at a family meal for four.

 

I'm assuming $175-220 CAD sadly.
