The EC head looks even better when looked at from the side:

r/EmperorsChildren - For anyone worried, our Defiler head looks 1000% times cooler in person!

And that WB head looks sick. The new transfer sheet is great too for vanilla CSM players, hope we get some refreshed vehicles in the future to put it on

Man those head options are amazing. Can't wait to see the full sprue reviews.

Also, this new transfer sheet is awesome

Interesting that the... I forget the names, the 'sigils' prominent on the 30k Word Bearers transfers have made the move over to 40k now. I know I'm late in saying this, but I'll echo others in thinking that between the new Defiler head and now new transfers it probably points to Word Bearers getting their upgrades and characters (if not Lorgar) sooner rather than later.

Portadores de la Palabra sounds like someone who helps you move furniture.

"Si, Senor, I help you carry these lecterns and holy tomes in name of Dark Gods, for good price, si!"

...I'll get me coat.

I recall someone noting that there seemed to be 2 different "torsos" for the Defiler, but I've not seen anyone actually confirm if that's the case or not.

Looking back at the article, it says:

"The Defiler has enough build options to impress even the most jaded Warpsmith. It has two torso pose options, three carapace options, two interchangeable chest plates, four regular Chaos Space Marine heads, one head each for the Iron Warriors, Word Bearers, World Eaters, Thousand Sons, Emperor's Children, and Death Guard, and two options each for the left and right shoulders. "

How they manage two different torso 'poses' is up for debate.

I'm interested in seeing if the head options are the right scale to put on the demon prince model - if so, it opens up a much needed opportunity to give a great but very static model a different look.

Also interested in seeing how the chest guns are assembled and how difficult magnitization will be.  As for the arm weapons, seems pretty simple except maybe the scourge.

I really like Mil Mijos.

That's Mil Hijos (pronounced Ee-kos), but you're not wrong.

Funny that Emperor's Children are translated as "Los Hijos de L'Emperador" (so, the Emperor's Sons) - but all the other Spanish words I can think of for Children mean non-adult children, so that's probably why... and none of them are gender neutral in the way "children" is.  Still, interesting that in Spanish 2 of the legions have "sons" in the name.

The Spanish for World Eaters translates back as World Devourers, which is far cooler IMHO.

Misread that. Mrs Grailkeeper is from Mexico so she wont be too happy with me. I liked it as the name kinda reminded me of Mil Mascaras.

I can still remember when the first defiler came out. It was in 3.5 edition. As I recall (open to correction here) there were no actual pictures of it in that legendary CSM codex and a lot of people were wondering what it would look like. We only had a written description I think, and maybe an artwork or two with little partial glimpses. Before it came out a guy in my local GW converted one by putting the legs from a cheap plastic spider toy onto the body of a rhino. When it did come out people thought it looked insane. Its aged a lot since.

There was a few bits in GW about how it was likely created by a black legion techmarine who  pre heresey records indicated specialised in dreadnoughts. It needed sacrifices of gene seed wrenched from loyalists in order to channel the specific demons required.

Looked it up. We had this art work.  Still peopele wondereed a lot what the model would look like. We didnt really have models of that scale back then. image.thumb.png.c557bead04261d780d55af43249d4a21.png

As with so much of the art in that Codex, it really was a gorgeous illustration and much nicer than the kit we actually got. I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish the new Defiler was cloer to that (complete with that wonderful mechanical detail in the claw arms).
