It's just boring. A smaller version of the existing knight. They could have done something cool with a different chassis, or even just more unusual weapons like a big mace.

That sure is a strange looking Cygnar Centu- oh wait.

They didn't mention anything about it being available to Chaos Knights, an oversight or they'll get a properly chaosified variant?

There's not been a single knight released that wasn't first released as a loyalist only version. Chaos rules followed in pdf formats first before they eventually got their own dedicated kits. Not sure why this being the same would raise any eyebrows.

This is really excellent looking Knight. It looks fast without being awkwardly lanky like the Cerastus. I really like the first head.

The article mentions Ad Mech allies. I just wish that real allied rules will be back in the 11th edition, and one can have a proper mixed army of Ad Mech and Knights like the Omnissiah intended.

There's a combination of some thinking Chaos shouldn't get access as almost parity for the wardogs existing, plus the fact there was no reason for GW not to mention a chaos pdf if they intended that.

The Wardogs are okay, but I don’t see them as 1:1 with a large frame Knight, and quite frankly I’m sick of seeing all-Armiger Chaos Knight armies. It’s boring, unimaginative and defeats the purpose of the faction IMO. Maybe something like this, a chassis that’s in between an Armiger and a Questoris, will change that a bit.

This is a cool model. It's not really exciting. Even dedicated Knights players can't get too excited about it as it's just a smaller (and not in an epic way) version of a larger thing. Like getting a new Land Raider, or a new Dreadnought.  (although we HH players will be very excited when we get our plastic sabres, so....!)

In fact, I'd be very wary about what this entails for 11th edition Knights players. You've already spent your £100 per model, now you might have to spend all that again because your current model is 400 points and the new one is only 300 points.

I dig it. It's a bit more right-scaled to 40k to my way of thinking. The frag cannon looks a little off, but I like the spear option without needing to go for a full Lancer. Equally enthused for an option around 250pts rather than having no options between like 150 and 350+

I'll get one almost certainly.

Cheers,

Cool model, dumb name.

Destrier is actually a really good pick considering it is Year of the Horse

As well as the historical context

I personally like how this looks for the most part, minus a few nitpicks. The rocket boosters give me some Titanfall vibes so I'm a bit biased though  The extra rocket on the butt of the spear is a nice extra touch for the "strike fast, strike hard" mentality they're going for here. The overall design feels consistent with the other knights in the range, and the helmets are neat looking even if they're a bit more pure fantasy than sci-fi. The scale feels good too, pretty much right in the middle ground where you would expect.

My personal opinion aside, though, I do understand the criticism and mixed reviews a lot of frater are having. I can definitely see the commonality with the Lancer being an excuse to sunset it in 40k rules or just having poor role overlap, and aside from the frag cannon the loadouts don't really seem to bring anything crazy new to the knight arsenal. The frag cannon itself is fine, but I think larger recoil stabilizers that "spilled over" to the outside of the casing would tie the look in better with the Deathwatch and old BA dreadnought versions.

Depending on what the final in-game and irl pricing look like, I could see myself getting this as an ally to my BT force without any issues!

"We have to increase profit this year. Even more!"

 "Quick, release another knight!"

I'm kinda joking, but if people like it, more power to them. For me it's mediocre.

They should lean more over the chilvary aesthetic and give us something that feel like a medieval giant robot knight.

This one is too clean and devoid of his own identity.

De gustibus non disputandum est.

Kinda agree on more unusual weapons to be a thing, but there's enough 3rd party support you can counts-as with the melee profiles that already exist at least.

Nice model. Nothing amazing but looks good. Hopefully it will be around the 250 points mark as others have said. It will make list building a bit easier for smaller games. A Questoris, a Destrier and a pair of Armigers should come in around 1000 points.

I am a little bit confused as to what people were expecting tbh. Knights have a definite aesthetic, and this looks exactly like a knight between an Armiger and a Questoris, which is what the rumour was. I dig it, I especially like the second faceplate.

Maybe something mire visually in theme with an acastus, or maybe something without arms and a large carapace weapon? Maybe more than 2 legs?

It really doesn't take much imagination.
